I recently went with my son to a movie where you can also have dinner at the same time you are watching the movie. The food was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. The one thing I didn't like about the experience was the fact that they came and gave you your dinner ticket during the movie. You pay for the movie ahead of time, but have to pay for the dinner later. It interrupts the movie while you take care of the ticket. It was a little pricey, but overall we had a nice time. Have you been to a "Cinedine" before and if so what did you think about it? Would you like to try it if you haven't had the opportunity to do so?

We used to have a place we went to called the Cinema-n-Drafthouse. It was similar to what you described. I agree with you about paying for the meal and dealing with the waitress did disturb the movie. Also with having tables it made the place more roomy ish and not centered on the screen. but my husband liked the place so we went once in a while. It was good for a change here and there.

This place had big long tables centered on the screen. They were more like a counter that sat 8 people, each on a different level like theater seats would be. They just need to figure out how to get your money without disturbing the movie. Sounds like you and your hubby enjoyed it anyway. I don't think its something I would want to do on a regular basis though even though we had a good time.
