Finally, the Dallas Mavericks NBA Champion for the first time. They beat Miami Heat 4-2.
My favorite team actually is LA. Lakers. But I'm applaud and congratulate me for Nowitzki and friends, they have stuggled throughout the season and gave the sense that victory must be obtained by hard struggle. Even in the final, Nowitzki should play in the condition of the flu. But he is(Nowitzki) absolutelly best player in this season.
If we look at how the Mavs played, i think it's time we saw Mavericks Era.... What do you think of that?

YEEAAA!!! Love the Mavs! I hope they can repeat and repeat!
They deserved it for a long time... but in the NBA there's really many teams who you can say that about. I guess what you summed up about hard struggle really hits it. =)

i really wouldn't jump to the conclusion and say the next coming seasons are going to be the mavericks era. i am glad they won the championship though as Nowitzki has gone through alot of struggle just to win his first championship. i thought they would probably win after they swept the lakers.

I been Dallas Maverick fan since Dirk Nowitzki arrived i am very proud that Dallas Won the Title very inspiring Win against the Big 3( D Wade,Lebron, and Bosh)like J.J. Barea said " It is the best trophy in the world". They deserve to be a champion you can see on there games its a true team who work hard, trusting each other they show to the world there is no shortcut. If the Mavs do the same thing that they done this last season i am very sure they can defend there title. i hope the lockout will solve as soon as possible

It's a job well done for Mark Cuban and his Mavericks finally removing the tag of "choker" from their previous trips to playoffs. Kudos as well for Dirk, J.Kidd, J.Terry and Marion as they already got a championship before they retire specially Kidd. It's been a redemption to all of them specially Dirk but I don't think that this would be the beginning of their dynasty due to several factors:
1. The Mavs' roster is aging and their youngsters are often injured [Roddy]. With the lockout, unless they would be able to bring back Barea, Chandler and Stevenson; their roster is completely depleted.
2. They don't have a solid backup for Dirk. Dirk may be the Finals MVP but if no one would give him 10-15 minutes of rest a game without the risk of sacrificing offense then Dirk would be exhausted.
3. It's their time when they won the championship but looking back to their previous runs, they're still an injury prone team. Provided that they all would be healthy come post season, then we would be speaking of dynasty.
4. The youngsters in the NBA have learned the hard way last season thus making them more equipped of making good decisions by post season. Bulls, Heat, Grizzlies, Pacers, Thunder and 76ers [provided that they would learn from experience] would be ready to take the title from the Mavs.
The Mavs are still a championship caliber team but they need to be cautious of the youngsters that would be making them sweat for the 2011-2012 season.

yeah, the mavs finally got one after 31 years. i think it was really mavs' year. the way they played throughout the season with injuries and late acquisitions, it was clear that they were meant to get something thsi year. and it was no other than a championship. i am happy for kidd, nowitzki, terry, marion and chandler. i am not sure if mavs will be able to hold on to the players. mavs exceeded the salary cap for a team, and i am in doubt if it can still hold chandler who is a vital part of the team and whose contract is about to expire.

It is the era of the Dallas Mavericks. They got the players and the drive to go for more NBA championships! I am so sick of LeBron James and the Miami Heat! Same with the LA LAkers! The NBA is due for a new era and the Mavericks will take us their!

Lebron James doesn't deserve that win anyways. His selfish attitude will never win him one. He needs to dedicate to one team, in the same way Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant has brought success to their teams. He may be skilled, but its a team attitude and effort to win.
Dallas deserved that win, Dirk always works hard and shown true dedication. That's why Dirk has always been considered for MVP. It's funny cause when James, and Bosh signed to the Heats, they thought it was going to be a Miami year. Guess not suckers.
But yea, James will never win until he dedicates to a team, perhaps fame and money got to him since he did start very young. And Hats off to Dirk, impressive as always

I had watch some of the games of the Dallas mavericks in the play-offs up to the finals.Their team was always underestimated that experts said that they will be knock-out in the first round of the play-offs.It makes the team more motivated and i have seen that they really play hard with a will to be a champion this year. When they play against the Lakers I already know that Dallas will win against the Lakers even if I'm a big fan of Lakers.Dallas team has the heart and the will to win so they swipe the Lakers and edge the Dallas in the finals. But my prediction is they will not be the NBA champion next year.I think its Lakers or Miami!
