Is this really the effect of seeing them quarrrel?

When I was young, every time I saw my parents quarrel to the point of hurting each other, it really got me shaken. You know, the thing is, you wanted so bad to end the argument, to make peace. You don't want to see your loved ones hurting each other, but then you just can't, because you're young and they're old and they can't hear you or want you to just shut up and stay behind locked doors. And when I'm getting old, I prefer to spend much of my time with my friends than with them. Do you experience like this also?what's the effect of it to you?
