How do you know who is the right marriage partner?

Traditionally, in our community men used to scout for a possible wife, send some sheep and goats to her parents and discussion and clear dowry. But when it came to taking the girls to the man's house, fellow young men would 'capture' the girl when she went to fetch water. Capture because the girls pretended to resist even though she knew where she was being taken and had consented to being married by the man. Marriage was therefore communal and involved many people. Today young men have to scout for potential wife talk and come into agreement with the lady all alone. This brings the question how will the guy/girl know they are engaged to the right person. A person to live with many days, how do they do it in your cultural environment how was it done previously?
How do you train youths through this period?

I think there's no exact measurement that can be used to gauge if one person is the right one for marriage. Sometimes, one that seem to be the right one turns not inside the marriage life and while one that seems to be wrong turns to be the perfect one. guess it's a matter who we live our marriage life with the one we choose. Marriage is a partnership and both partners must work hard to make it right as both party can be both measured as the right choice!
