gaay heritage month since 1970

I just finished reading some articles about celebrating "Gaay Heritage". I learned that for the month of June gaays/leesbians are celebrating gaay heritage in the honor of their gaay forefathers since 1970. I understand that it is not easy being in their situation. People may judge them or some may ignore them. But whatever they will be treated for as long as they know how to be a good person they should be respected and treated as a person. :D
