Ok, so now the big announcement about Pottermore is out: Pottermore is an interactive website where readers get new material and ways to interact with the material. Also, the Harry Potter series will now be available for purchase in eBook format from Pottermore's online store. The website will be open to all in October, but registration will begin July 31. Apparently, the first 1 million people to register on July 31 will get to beta-test the website before the October launch.
I just want to know what everyone thinks about this announcement. Is anyone dissappointed that it's not another book? Who wanted to see an encyclopedia? What about a game? Leave your thoughts (or rants) here.

Wow. Would be interesting to check out this concept. What is the link to this site? Also is it a paid site? I would love to see what new things they can offer or will it go the star trek way of having multiple writers writing stories off the original series.
Cheers!

The link is www.pottermore.com, and it's going to be a free site, unless you're doing the online shopping part of course.

I am quite disapointed as i was hoping for an encyclopaedia and that is what i was genuinely expecting it to be as in the past she may do a harry potter encyclopaedia.i think it is a shame that this additional information won't come in a book as i think the printed word is better than on a screen. However i will give it a fair chance i am not against accessing harry potter info online i often visit the harry potter wiki and would be pleased if pottermore acts as an official and authenticated version of this.
