In recent days, the news on television, filled with news about the fate of migrant workers in Saudi Arabia. There are many workers who will be punished execute by beheading there. They are mostly convicted of murdering her employer. They do not intend to kill, but they were only defending themselves, and avoid rape. What do you think? What should be done by the government?

In the US, self defense is an excuse for killing somebody. I think executing somebody under those circumstances is shameful.

Hi Dawnald. That is the way it should be everywhere. I think that these people did what they had to do to protect themselves. It is shameful to execute them too!

Hi Indahfth. If they were defending themselves then nothing should happen to them. It says in the bible to send murders and rapist back to God by killing them. But no where in the bible does it say that Christians should take any Bull from anyone. Christians are not second hand citizens. The only place in the bible does it tell us to turn the other cheek it means if you go to a person that thinks they are Christian not to go into their home and tell them they are wrong. It don't mean take what ever any bullie decides to do to you. If someone is going to try and kill someone or rape someone then God wants us to stand up and take action. If they try to kill or hurt me I am going to do what ever it takes to protect me and my family even if it means I have to kill someone to protect myself or family.

I am sorry I assumed that they had already investigated the crime. They should be sure they are guilty first by all means it would be very wrong to punish the wrong person or persons.I hope that the government does the right thing.I hope that you have a great day.

They should investigate this case properly, before giving the punishment.

indahfth oh that sou nds just awful beheading. whew. What do I think? any government who would punish that barbarically is wrong ,wrong, wrong, if those people murded somone to keep from being raped a compassionate government would say it was self defense and not behead them. but seeing its Saudi Arabia I doubt any of them have any compassion for anyone. What do I think? I think that any migrant workers who go to that barbaric country to work are eithr naive or fools, that is my opinion.

Most of my countrymen who work abroad, work in Saudi Arabia and nearby countries, and I wish you would have chosen your words better. These people didn't really have a choice, because if they did, trust me they would have chosen that. Poverty here has brought people to a point where either committing crime or having a very risky and sacrificing job a doable option. I am with you, on your view on Saudi Arabia, however.

Poverty is a cause, a person chooses to become migrant workers. Suppose, there are many jobs available, this need not happen. Most of them, leaving a migrant worker, without equipped with the skills, and language skills. It makes a disaster.

It has been going on since years ago. The fate of the our workers overseas especially the maids has been neglected by the people in the government. In my view there is not a real action done to protect them. They were abused, tortured and some were killed by their employers. Especially the maids in Saudi Arabia, they often face rape from the male employer and abuse from the female employer and has to be responsible for their action for trying to defend themselves. Yet, there are still many who want to go...

yes, you are right. I was also surprised. Why are many prospective workers who still want to go there. As if the fear they were lost because money that would be obtained. In fact, they are not necessarily a good employer.

Unfortunately, many our 'maid' workers were not trained well for overseas works, therefore often they faced abuse from the employers...

yes! i saw that news and sad to say that there were lot of Filipinos and other nationalities were execute of beheading.I was wondering in the Philippines why they still sending migrant workers in a country which was really not safe to work with specially at home, and sad to say it was not really a news but i already saw my two eyes what was the condition of many Filipinos, Indonesian, Indian, Bangladesh here in saudi ...I was sad with their condition, sometimes you can met some Filipinos housemaid they were never fed, they cannot go out, sometimes their employer harassing them....we cannot blame they why they killed their employer in order to protect themselves, these kind of country that have no humanity, they never treat people as human but like an animal sorry to the word but its true....no freedom specially for woman I hope that someday our Government would be awaken, but i knew that the Government of Philippines stop sending housemaid in saudi arabia unless the one would hired a housemaid has the capabilities to have like to have owned room, how big the house, they were getting the salary of the employer if they can paid they housemaid..well its good they made an arrangement about this so that it would be minimized the case of beheading in saudi arabia

The labor, tempted by high salaries. They feel, in his country can not live well, because it does not have a job.

the Philippines is not yet Independent... why? because the Philippines depends upon the salary of the Foreign nation.... Filipino people cannot work on their own country enough to be called Dependent... the Filipino people knows the appropriate dangers when they work abroad but still they will go to a foreign country to serve foreigners... where the foreigners doesn't work for the Filipino Managers or Filipino Store Owners... The Filipino caregiver serve foreigners babies, but their own babies they can't even serve... when will the Filipinos be Independent???

I've read the news in our papers about the maid being executed for murdering her employer. Defending oneself should not end in a murder. Nobody should take the law into their own hands. Employees should respect the law of the country they are in.

they are cornered, if not defensively, it will definitely hurt, but if self-defense, the punishment they get.

I think that it has been long overdue for the government to ban Saudi Arabia as a choice of destination for immigrant workers. Obviously, people from that place have very little or no respect at all for immigrants and human rights. That is what I think.

Hi indahfth, No human being has the right to take another's life and beheading is terrible and should not be allowed in any country. I feel that since they were acting simply to avoid rape, they should be returned home. Blessings.

I would wonder why the government has not done a more indepth investigation and found this to be true. I would also wonder if they weren't going to make matyrs out of them. That is sad. Beheading is a midevil end to a life. If they were really only defending themselves why isn't that being seen by the government? Or don't they care?

They should conduct the investigation before giving the punishment. They were wrong, having killed. But, at least of their reasons for self-defense, could alleviate the punishment.

I was very upset to hear this news. Many migrant workers are not treated well. I really hope, no workers from Indonesia, who were sent abroad as housemaids.

this is what i said before, that Philippines up to now are not yet ready to be Independent.... Philippines is Independent by name and address but the situations before and up to now, Philippines is NOT yet Independent... other countries export items as goods... while Philippines export items as OFW, Seaman, Nurse, Caregiver, Dancer in Japan, Beauties in Brunei, etc... Philippines is not yet independent because they prefer to work as a slave to the foreigners and called themselves "Modern Hero"... they used to guard and guide the babies of the foreigner and they didn't guard and guide their own babies.... another reasons why Philippines is NOT yet Independent.... even in the home country the Philippines, we Filipinos used to work not with the Filipinos but we are working under Chinese Owners, Korean Owners, or American Owners exactly here in the Philippines.... another reasons again why Philippines is NOT yet Independent..... about r4pe???? i think plenty of them r4ped already but few have the guts to tell honestly and keep it silent... as... Telling lies sometimes saving dignity and career... especially if the r4ped girl doesn't get pregnant or having abortion in other countries and kept it secret... there are many things that girls has the activity there in foreign countries but they never tell anyone and kept it secret.... if you won't tell anybody then nobody knows right? you ask "What should be done by the government?" well, here is my answer: if ever the next candidate for government election is still a Filipino, the problem will still remain the same.... why not importing Foreigners to manage our country? majority said that... We must start to change if the government will never change but it is easy to say that thing but in actual, we are all the same.... that if i have the chance to be a candidate too for the next government election, i am a corrupt too, i am just true to myself to claim it, i am not a plastic hahahaha the worst is, if you said you are honest but in actual, it is hidden making corrupt acts... you have the power to command, you have the money, you have the army, temptation is heavy, it's a once in a lifetime that you are in that position as a big chance to corrupt and earn more... will you not grab that opportunity??? sooner or later, even the angel Satan from good becomes a corrupt too we must be true to our self...

I was one of the most devastated to hear of this incident. Why? First, I am a great admirer of "the father founder of Indonesia," Sukarno In his hands, even though Indonesia is a new nation, but there is not another nation that undermine this nation. Look now? Malaysia & Arabs have been acting up. In fact, in the past they were subdued by him. Second, they are Muslims, just like us. They are also supposed to be an example because the prophet Muhammad was born there. But look?! most of the conglomerate could only spend money they can get from the USA & have never seen Palestine. no offense:) i just a stupid child who show my feel in this forum :) i love peace 4ever d^_^b

What should be done and what will be done in Saudi Arabia and other countries where Islam is the official religion are different. Only where there is religious freedom do women have any real rights.
