Money will make a person happy only if that person won't worship money like an idol.Money is not evil but greedy for money is.We do need money to keep us survive but if we will control by it, then it is no good. There are many people think that once they have money , they will be happy.Sometimes, it can be true when we are in a very poor condition and experience lots of hardship in finance. However, it may not be true for those who already has more than enough but with an unhappy family. It really depends on what kind of life style we are looking for and what do we mean by " enough" .Well, what do you think? I do not need a lot of money, but the lack of money and the stress involved in trying to figure out which bill i am going to pay and which one I am not going to pay makes me very unhappy.
It is what you do with the money that makes you happy or not. Do you spend it on other people to help them out, or do you blow it all on yourself, surrounding yourself not with people but with objects.

I'm content with what I have and I live within my means. I think when people start living above their means, they become unhappy due to the stress involved in trying to keep their heads above water. Money is just a tool that allows us to live a certain way and do certain things.

A lot of money tends to make people greedy. There was these people that had won a very good amount of money in the lottery here in Iowa. They looked like they didn't have a whole lot of money from they way they looked and dressed, kind of scruffy looking. The guy was a bit disappointed because he thought it should have been more. I am like come on you have more money that you could ever imagined. People who get rich by wining the lottery seem to get greedy and mismanage their money then their back to being back to where they were, broke. I know a lot of us say a lot of money would make us happy, but would it really?

I agree a person needs to have money to live but everyone is capable of having a lot of money. Myself being a single mom I live pay check to pay check. Not everyone can be born with a silver spoon in their mouths, marry rich or have a sugar daddy on the side. I don't think money buys happiness. Happiness comes from within not from the all mighty dollar.

but if you have no money,
or you have money but enough to pay your bills,
where would you get an extra money for the education of your children for future problems?
it is very important to have a big money savings for future disaster defense....
or else, worst if you have no money later will make us more worst unhappy...
i just imagine the story of the Ant and the Grasshopper...
the ant is busy collecting and saving food that is much 40 times bigger than the ant body while the duty of the grasshopper is Rolling On The Floor Laughing Out Loud only...
when the rain comes, hunger to the grasshopper and the ant which has enough food savings (enough money savings)
the ant is a very happy insect....

I agree with you completely! You have to keep it all in balance -- don't get greedy, don't be controlled by it. Otherwise, having money is basically the key to a good life nowadays. There's too much stree without money.

I think that money means a lot on someone's life. If the person already suffer for not having money, it will mean so much more.
I would say that money would make me 95% happy, because money don't buy health, but all the others things I can use the money to get. In my family, 99% of the fights between my parents is because of money, so, we definitely would be a happier family if we have more money.

I agree with you. That's why I believe that money make a person almost 100% happy, but if you suffer from a incurable disease, money is not going to represent much thing. Of course, you could have better treatment for your disease with the money, but you still going to not have a long life.

Money is able to buy you many things in life, but I don't think any of those things necessarily result in happiness! Sure, it's nice to live in a nice house and have nice things around you, but at the end of the day, I believe it is the relationships you have with people and the way you feel about yourself that really makes you happy. Money can often lead to greed and envy, and so there are many times when people may be as rich as they can be but they are actually terrible people and therefore cannot be happy!

I agree with you. But, I also think that money can make me a better person. Because, sometimes you feel so frustrated because you have to get money to pay your bills, buy your things and stuff like that. This, sometimes, make me a bitter person and this attiude don't help persons on their relationships.

Money cannot buy happiness but it can buy comfort and freedom from financial pressure and those 2 things can help provide happiness. As someone who is struggling financially I would love to be free from those problems. However people who are born to money never seem to learn to appreciate it. I do not think they are happy but I could be wrong.

It's true, money alone can't make a person happy,it takes much more than that to achieve that state of grace, and I think a key factor top reach happiness is represented by family and people who are close.I can't imagine how someone can be happy alone, without true friends, even if that person had a huge fortune.

They sat that money does not bring happiness!Maybe, but it sure helps to get there!!!
Greed will stop people from being happy, since they will never think that they have enough, but some influx of money to relieve the stress of not having enough, and allowing us to do things that we dream of ,helps a lot! Like getting out of debt, being able to help family and friends, doing fun things without having to worry that it is costing too much and so on.

Hi
wildlittlefan,
In my opinion those who don't have money for them money is very precious and indeed it should be as it helps to get them food for 2 times. They need money to get them clothes to cover their body. They need money to get shelter to protect themselves form rain, heat & to sleep at night.Yes it will bring smile on their faces as they get their basic needs fulfilled from it.
But rich people need more money than poor because their hunger for money don't get decrease but it increases day by day.If they have their own house then they think to buy another house they need money for it.There may be few rich people who don't care for money at all otherwise more money more lust people have for money.

It helps, in the sense that you have easy access to almost anything. But it's definitely not the end-all and be-all of happiness. Sometimes, you can be happy with the simplest things...even free things! :)

We all need money as means of key to our necessities, however, it does not guarantee that money can buy happiness. There are mane people not to name a few who seems to have everything but ending up their lives since their fame nor fortune cannot give the happiness they have been aiming for. Not relying on money is a key to have a better life. Money and all the materialistic needs cannot guarantee a true happiness in one's life. Happiness comes from within and not depending to anything or anyone who can as well contribute to your happiness.

Hi there, i could not agree more... money can make a person happy if he/she isn't greedy and he/she knows how to balance things... i consider my dad as somewhat a greedy person because he has been working abroad for almost thirty years. it's like he does not have plans of going home anytime soon. he adores money so much to the extent of forgetting his family back here... i hope he soon realizes that money isn't only the important thing in this world...

I don't think that money can buy happiness and such, but it can make life a lot easier which means that it is easier for the person in question to be able to be happy, if that makes any sense at all. I have always thought about what I would do if I won the lottery, and there are lots of things that I feel as though I would be able to do for the charities that I support providing that I had the money to be able to do so. I would love to win a lot of money, because I just think that I would do so much more better things than most people do with the money that they win.

true,
if you are rich, for sure, money will make you happy....
but if you are poor, it is easy to say "we can't bring money in heaven when we die"
if they say "money is to root of all evil"
therefore...
Money is the root of all good too.....
Good and Evil are only the same and it should be balanced.....
no one is greater than the other....
if you are always busy, then you have lots of money....
but if you are lazy, then money is impossible to come to your hand....
the reason why that person is rich because his is always busy....
the reason why that person is poor because his parents sends him to school before, but what he did is schooling mall dating with girlfriend or boyfriend, another form of studies disturbances obstacles....

If money made us happy, there wouldn't be so many miserable rich people around. Money gives us freedom to do the things we want to do. Money is a tool, and nothing more. When we start thinking of money in any other way, it can control us. Being afraid to enjoy life because we are afraid to spend the money is a way to be miserable. Money is a tool.. so it doesn't make us happy or unhappy... happiness comes from within us.. not from what we have.
