Yesterday, me and a friend went to our best friend's house and this best friend taught us how she makes French fries. I didn't know it's just easy! We just sliced the potatoes, roll it in corn starch, add some salt and then deep fried it! And the French fries turned out really crispy and tastes like fast food. LOL. I know some people claims that French fries is bad for the health, but I think it's not bad if you only get to eat it every once in a while. I love French fries and now I can make my own in my own home.

Hi, autumndreamer. Making french fries is fun. I remember my aunt used to make them when we were younger. I love the way that she used to slice up the potatoes. I could never do it like she does. French fries can be healthy as long as you bake them in the oven on a non stick pan. It can be healthy too if you use canola oil, corn oil or olive oil when frying it. These type of oils are healthy for your heart. I use these type of oils whenever I fry something.

Yes, I know it's really fun. I have done it many times with my friends. It's a really great bonding time for us when we cook french fries together. Slicing the potatoes is just easy. I want to bake French fries too instead of frying them but unfortunately I don't have an oven, so maybe one day if I'll buy an oven I will definitely try baking the fries instead of frying. Yes, I know they are healthy. We use olive oil and canola oil too when frying the fries or anything that can be fried.

That sounds interesting. Thank you very much for teaching how to make french fries. Cooking is one thing I am not good at all. But, I do very much like eating french fries. That is always my side-item when I go to restaurants for lunch and dinner.

Me too, every time I go to a fastfood restaurant, I always order for fries. I'm not so good at cooking too, but I love to cook! It just takes passion to know how to cook different foods.

Wow so you love French fries. I would like to cook at home too, for my family. I also like to try the ones that are already cut in the market. Thanks for response. Have a nice day!

I love French fries and I have tried to make it by myself a few times, but it is not as well the French fries produced by McDonald's. Some time ago I read a short post via the net and it offers a way to make professional French fries. Then I realize I missed an important procedure. That is after slicing the potato, I shall steam them and then freeze them into the fridge. When you want to make French fries, then you can take out of the frozen sliced potato and deep fry them.
I love China

Wow that is another way on how to cook French fries. Anyway, I deep fry the potatoes right away after slicing them and dipping them in corn starch. Does freezing them make it taste professionally cooked? I'm curious. By the way, thanks for your response. Maybe I might try what you said.

LOL. I think cooking fried chicken is more hassle than cooking French fries! Haha. Cooking French fries is just easy. You can buy the already cut potatoes in the market and then dip them in corn starch and waiting fro it to get cooked just gets only a few minutes. Cooking fried chicken is even more confusing, complicated, and it takes longer to cook (I think).

Now I know the secret ingredient. It's cornstarch! :) I always tried to make home-made french fries but I end up cooking them sticking to each other, soggy, or wet-looking. Thanks for the tip!

Yes! Corn starch makes the fries really crispy like it's from McDonald's! You can even make it a lot crispier than the fries in McDonald's with corn starch. You're welcome. Have a nice day and good luck on the next time you'll try cooking French fries.

I love french fries too. Is so good to learn new stuff to make at the kitchen. I love it. Yesterday I was watching Food Network and learned how to make an awesome mashed potatoes. So today I ran to make them. My husband was amazed, it tasted so good! Now I want to make I recipe I found in the internet of a Nutella mug cake. Is a cake but made in a mug. I looks so delicious. I can't wait to try it.
