I have been thinking of setting up my own website. The problem is, I do not have enough time to do it. I can't even manage my own little blog, how much more a website. Then somebody offered me to do everything in my website, content and design and everything, I just need to get a host and domain name. Good thing, eh?
Now... okay. I think I can pay for the hosting and domain name. Also, it would be something to generate me income. I cannot really explain all the details here, but do you think guys it would be fine? If I make a web site?
I am hesitant, but of course I think I could pull this off.
Uhm, are there people here who established their own big profitable websites, really websites, not just blogs? Any advice?

Well, you only have to do the easy parts, which are pay the host and the domain name. I already had one website once and is very difficult to create the website from scratch. But the biggest problem to me was to update the site, I never had the time. And that's bad because the visitors don't want to see old stuff.
I think you should try. If your site don't need so much updates, is not going to be so difficult to you to maintain the site.

Well,, If you have one to two weeks free time.. you can do it..
I already have a website but I didn't upload it yet, because I'm searching for free web hosts first.
I used adobe photoshop, adobe dreamweaver and SWF maker..
It is easy and I really enjoyed doing it.
By the way, the theme of my website is Philippine History, I'm planning to donate it to NGO's.

Yeah, they'll set-up everything huh, but what type of content will this be? Will it be duplicate content just copied from the web? Are you looking to set-up a blog style website or basically a static website? Is there a large enough demand in you niche for it to be profitable? How will you promote the site? How will you gain traffic? How often would the site need to be updated? etc. etc. etc... There are so many things to think about when building a website/blog. Getting it up is the easy part. Keeping it going and making it profitable is the super challenge! These are the things you need to think about. And no, you don't need a megasite to make money. That's nice and all if you want that type of site, but many webmasters have minisites that outperform large ones both in rankings and earnings.

Are you thinking of having a website to do online business ? Some people set up websites by themselves, but if one does not have the skill for it, one can use the service of website building companies. Having a website is the way to do business online if you have businesses you wish to promote, trading, services, consulting, and so on.
