Can You Milk a Cow?

No worries mate - I was a farm boy -- sometimes the cows would kick the bucket over -- or even kick me if they were in a bad mood but only rarely.Have done it by hand and machine - Dad used to play them classical music at 4.30 in the morning ( milking time) He said it made them peaceful and produce more milk too. Have also milked goats -- they can be quite bad-tempered too sometimes. Mind you so would I if someone was squeezing my udders at that time in the morning.

I haven't tried that one yet. But I'm sure it must be similar experience to milking a goat. If yes then I can milk a cow!

I sure have - my grandparents had a farm when I was a child and I have very special memories from when Grandpa taught me how to milk the cattle, feed the calves, etc.

I grew up on a farm and learned how to milk cows at an early age. I'm pretty good at it, but I'm also glad I don't have to do that any more.

I have never attempted this and the idea intimidates me. I guess I could do it if I had to. The first thought that came to mind when I saw this subject, though, was about how much trouble I had milking myself (aka pumping) when I was trying to nurse my son!

I milk cows usually on Sunday mornings. I choose sundays because that's usually the warmest day for the most part. My cows all say that they prefer me to do it when it's warm

Well..I managed to get the milk in the pail..but I don't think the cow liked it much...
