I haven't heard it before, just learned this condition when my colleague at work didn't came back after a long weekend due to holiday break. She was rushed to the hospital and had her cesarean delivery for her first baby.
All of us were really surprised when we received the news cause were not expecting the baby to be born at seven month old. She was a premature baby and all of us were so happy to learn that they are both safe after the struggle. The doctor even said that its really impossible for the baby to survive and the mother is also in critical condition. But they're wrong, that is why sometimes, doctors are not reliable (sorry for the doctors out there) they just declare things on their own. Never thought that there is Someone who holds our lives.
Praise God, prayers are answered.

I want to thank God for the life of that woman who delivered her baby safely through cesarean process. The goodness is that she survived and I feel great for her.

I've heard of pre-eclampsia in pregnant women and know a few people that had it - high blood pressure, severe headaches, abdominal pain - that develops past the midway point of the pregnancy term. Even though swelling of the ankles, face, etc., is common in perfectly normal pregnancies, it also seems to be notable in those with pre-eclampsia. It's actually a very dangerous condition and the baby usually does have to be delivered. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/preeclampsia/DS00583 I'm very glad that your colleague and her baby are both ok! What a blessing

Congratulations to your friend that has just had her baby. It was such a shame that she got eclampsia. This means the pregnant lady has very high blood pressure indeed. It is dangerous for the yet to be born baby. Therefore the hospital usually chose to give the lady a c-section. I must be shock to be only 7 months pregnant and then have a c-section. Then the baby is premature.
At 36 weeks in my second pregnancy I have high blood pressure and protein in my urine. My midwife thought I had eclampsia. I went to hospital for testing. I had a scan which showed I had a baby with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. My disabled son was born at home when I was 39 weeks pregnant. He went to hospital in an ambulance. He stayed for three weeks in the special care baby unit. He is now 4 years old.

My heart saddened whenever I heard stories about children with physical or whatever complication. My son was diagnosed to have G6PD deficiency, a genetic disorder that has defect in an enzyme that may affect red blood cell to breakdown prematurely. Doctors said I shouldn't worry since its like a sort of an allergy which I had to watch my child to avoid certain foods and medicine. My colleague from my previous work, a nursing graduate mentioned that the lifespan for people with this deficiency is up to 7 years only.
However, I never hold on to his knowledge. My God is greater than everything and anyone. He holds our life and He is our life. We declare that my son is healed of the Lord and no sickness can fail my child. I'am glad that at three, he is healthy and no sign of any sickness!

There are two types, Pre-eclampsia and Eclampsia.
Pre-eclampsia is a condition that occurs in pregnant women, its causes high blood pressure in the women andcan cause eclampsia fits and other serious problems. In the baby it can result in growth developments, premature birth and still birth. It affects 1 in 25 of all pregnancies.
Eclampsia is considered a complication of severe pre-eclampsia, its the most severe final stage of pre-eclampsia.
Causes:
High blood pressure before pregnancy
pre-eclampsia in the family
Obesity
Carrying more then 1 child
History of diabetes, kidney disease, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis
I hope this answers a few questions for people
