How Can I Make My Day Better?

I'm just having an off day today. I got up too early and I'm not feeling right. My stomach is in knots for some unknown reason. My daughter got my attention earlier and as I turned to look at her I smacked my head into the door, and now I am at work and my day hasn't gotten any better at all, worse actually. Do you think you can turn your own bad day around? Do you think it can be changed with your attitude and thinking? Or is it something that you physically have to change for yourself as in treat yourself to something?

treating yourself to something is always a good way to brighten your spirits and help you change your attitude and thinking. A slice of cheese cake always makes me feel better. lol

Hello again my friend =) Thanks for your thoughts like always. I should just treat myself to something and cheesecake right now does sound amazing. Especially NY cheesecake, wish I was there to have some real cheesecake. =)I miss pizza & bagels too. Sorry, off topic. LOL

I think you can make your day better by proper planning. Be organized within your mind and on the physical side of your life. You must make plan on what you want to do each day. Things may not work out but keep on trying your best. Do not feel bad about yourself. try to maintain a positive outlook about life and refrain from negative thought.

Thanks for your thoughts. I am usually a pretty organized person and I plan out every detail of my life pretty much and I honestly think that could be some of my problems. If it doesn't go exactly how I plan (like today) then I get down and upset.

You should run your head under the faucet with cold water to wake yourself up. I always feel much better when I do that. If you're having problems focusing on things then it also helps to take an aspirin. Do some light exercises and stretching. This should be part of your daily routine. Except the aspirin because it unhealthy to take aspirins every single day. You need to get your blood flowing and your metabolism going. This means you have to eat a breakfast. You should also catch some fresh air. Walking even for just a short while outside can really be a big boost.

Thanks for your response and I am going to start excercising more often. With my kiddos I do a lot of running around after them and playing with them so I rarely ever just sit down and relax but healthy excercise sounds good. =)Thanks for your thoughts.

We all have these off days. Days, I think, we should just stay in the house. You just have a series of unfortunate events but I do think you can get around it by being actively in front of it. Don't brood about not feeling well or being in a bad mood. I just had one of these days, just looked like everything was going wrong. I lost my phone, was suppose to meet with someone it did not happen, could not complete some projects I had in the coffers. One of my projects got away from me.....just on and on but the more I proactively kept going and did not brood too much, the better I felt. I called the phone company, deactivated, was able to get a new one, only cost me a dollar (I had a gift card that I had earned). I was only without a cell a few hours. I kept at it with my projects and all was finally completed. I did go and get my favorite coffee. I took a walk, fresh air is always good for me but I kept at it and I did not let the day be overcome with negativity and feelings of despair. I hope you can find some solace and some peace in your today. Let me know how you don't let the negative monster get the best of you.

I am sending you positive thoughts and joy......Did you get them? I will keep the positive flowing your way....I know about those kind of days and it's just hard to get going and flowing especially when you get the negative snowballing, remember to keep breathing and think about all of the wonderful things about your brother and when you see him, maybe you will have a funny story or two or even a tidbit that is a joke between him and you. Just re-framing your mind and focusing in a different direction will help. I lost my oldest brother this year and I regret not having any last goodbye moments....enjoy your brother today. These precious moments are all we have. I wish you love, joy and kindness as you continue your day....

Thanks for your response. =) I wish I could have just stayed in the house today =( I have to work and I have a going away party for my brother since he is moving and I just really don't feel up to it. But, I won't see him for a while so I do want to get to say goodbye. And I'm not the type to say I'll do something and then not do it. I really need to think some positive thoughts today most definitely.

Sometimes in life we often have a bad day and during that day everything bad seems to happen and we think that what is wrong but just think that the day is not good for you and just move on.

I've had off days too. I've turned them around by changing my attitude. I would mentally tell myself that I was having a good day.

I think attitude have something to do with it! I used to go and pick up my grandson's girl friend on my way to work[ by the way she was always late]she had so many excuses!but on the way to work she would say I Am going to have a bad day I know it! and from then on she would point out why her day was going to be a bad one!...at the end of the day she was making her choice! she was going to have a bad day because she chose so! At the end of the day is my choice to have a good day and I will have it because that is my choice and nothing will keep me away from it!

Thanks for your response! I agree and that is a good point. It has to start in your mind. The mind is very powerful. =)

I don't believe you have to get something physical or treat yourself into something just to change your mood. This is just a personal thought, but I strongly believe everything starts in the mind. Thinking, is where everything starts. Being happy or feeling good isn't caused by something or some situation but it's totally a choice. After things go wrong, it's not like you don't have an option. You control yourself and you always have options, to either get mad and stay happy. Who says you can't be happy after you smacked your head into the door. It sounds crazy, because normal people would feel bad, but then again - i'd rather be happy and joyful than risk my entire day just for the sake of being normal.

Thank you for your response! That is an awesome way to look at things! I have never thought of that before, I would rather not be normal. =) Thanks again.

Yes I think you can make your day better. It depends only of you. Don't focus on the bad things happening. Just think in all the great things we have to be thankful. Something that really work for me in those days is to listen some music, my favorite one. Sometimes I dance like crazy with my little one and my day just turn great. I always say, only you are able to change everything bothering you in your life. Be creative, go out the routine. Not something big but something even small can make the difference. Cook something different today, buy a new nail color, I don't know, anything! Your day definitely will change for good. Have a great day!!

Actually I like to think that the day can get better, despite the rough start. For me, I try a few things: play a good tune in my head, perhaps take a quick walk, perhaps remember something funny that happened, get some "me" time, anything to get my mind off my troubles. Why? Sometimes it helps to step back for a bit so they can be looked at the way they need to be. It's also better than taking your anger out on someone who had nothing to do with whatever is bothering me. If that's the case, give them a heads up so the situation is not made worse than it is.

Thanks for your response! Your right, me time is definitely helpful. I cried it out and watched a sad movie about someone else's life and I did end up feeling better. =)
