I know little about it. But towards the end of the '90s, there was a big fuss made about Trance and it's appeal to a younger generation of club goers. At an English club called Gatecrasher which specialised in Trance music, these youngsters would dress in outlandish clothing in order to enjoy their favourite music. The music itself is hard for someone like me to describe...but it was heavily tuneful, with a strong melody to the fore played loudly and prominently with a distinctive keyboard sound; as in Robert Miles' "Children"; probably the most famous ever Trance tune. But I am just guessing; I know little about it; or if it's still fashionable, now that Electronic Dance Music has a far lower profile than in say 1999, when Trance was at its height. But I imagine it's still played in clubs.
