The number by your username is your 'user rating'. It show your activity but doe not include everything that you post (and is therefore not a post count). It is explained here by myLot: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx You shouod write as much, or as little, as is required in the particular topic/response/comment that you are preparing. There is no minimum but quality, descriptive posts (in English and not text language) will be worth more. You can use the search and the tasks to add to your earnings too. If you read the FAQs you will find everything explained there. Realise that myLot is a discussion site and that you only earn for your own activity. If you start a discussion, you will not earn for the responses that others post. They will earn for those. I am new to mylot and still learning, mostly though trial and error. Participation is the key. Begin discussions, reply to your responders and respond to other discussions. It is important that everything you write or post has content and quality. I think this is how the majority of mylotters earn. But you can also complete tasks, play games and take surveys. My earning were disappointingly low in the beginning but they have improved as I have learned how to mylot. You can earn money by downloading and using the toolbar and by searching. There are lot of methods of earning like posting quality responses,starting you own discussion,using search engine,tasks,referrals,blogs,photo uploading but all these requires your involvement. People do make much more that 5 cents its just depends on yourself but you won't get rich by MYLOT earnings as you should not think of earnings only as earning through MYLOT is less than the fun we find here. The number besides your name is user rating which goes up when you respond for unique discussion. It won't increase if you have replied on a discussion more that once. It doesn't matter how much you write but it is suggested by MYLOT to write as descriptive as possible.
