Currently I am working for three years now in this company. Though at first the salary was promising and the job is what i really wanted to do. So I stayed with them. But recently, salary increase, bonuses, allowances were not given. Which the company should give because it is what us employees deserve. Rumors came around and said things will change by next month. Well I am hoping it will be for the best and good welfare of the employees. What do you think? Should I stay or better look for a new job?

Hello sunnystarfish..! :)
I do not know, but in my opinion, if the company do not fulfilled what is its responsibility to its workers, then the company is not that good, and you'd better find a new one which is better: pay you better, and treat you better. :)
But, this is your job and this is your life. you are the one who knows what is best for you.
If you plan to stick with that company, please make sure that you can grow your career there, not only stuck on your position now.
If you think you will not have any career there in that company, i suggest you to search for another company which where you can have your career grow.
And, you can read Brian Tracy's books to learn how you can achieve the best within you :) Or just follow his twitter to get personal message on email then, so you can learn from his free articles, which is really good for your development. :)
So, decide what is better for your future, think wisely, should you stay or leave.
Then, you will not have any regret in the future :)
Have a great day! :)

My advice, wait 'till next month and see if rumors are true or not. While you wait, review your contract. See if it's clearly stated in your contract that you as an employee are entitled to be given a salary increase, bonuses and allowances. If it's not, then you must be thankful to have those before but if it says those are what you are promised to have then talk to your boss. Ask for some update, ask him why is this happening. Don't be afraid to be open and frank to them but be careful with your choices of words and how you deliver it. If this is probably happening because the company you work at is encountering some monetary troubles and is not getting their expected flow of income at all then better start looking for another working environment. Good luck to you! Hope you'll be in a stable company! :)

If I liked my job before I wouldn't quit. There would be lots of folks who would be more than happy to jump in and take it from me.

I think a company not giving what employees deserve is unfair. However, if the company has a reason, like it is not profiting , then it is understandable. Rather than the company have to close, they might as well save costs by bot giving bonus, which is not really a mandated one by the Dept. of Labor.
That being the case, i think it is better if you start scouting for a more stable and big company.

You wait for the change next month. If it's good for you, then you stay. But if it's getting worse, you leave. It's very depressing and frustrating if you are working in a company who does not know how to give value to its employees. I am sure there are a lot of companies who are willing to hire you and give you a good package. Be patient for now and decide when the time comes.

Your right that the employee should receive whatever they deserve for doing their job,but if you feel and you think that your company just make a lot of promises and nothing happens, its better to file resignation then look for better one.If you feel that your one of their best employee then its their lost.
Just believe in yourself.

Hi Sunny. Welcome to Mylot.
I have questions for you though. Is the company hitting the expected budget? Is the company meeting their collections on their account receiveables? If your answer to these is both a NO, then i would strongly suggest that you move out. You cant expect increases or bonuses if the company is not really doing that good.

Hi Sunny,
You are in a very terrible situation if the things you enjoyed in the past won't be received now. I suggest you keep your cool and wait if things get worst before you decide to move out. They are maybe experiencing some difficulty and your help might be needed. They helped you in the past so try to reconsider that. For the time being though, enjoy your job because as you said - it's what you really want to do.

A pleasant day to you Sunnystarfish,
Your main topic is like an echo that resounds to my ears. That is the question that I should repeatedly ask myself before I have done this move that I did one month ago.
For me, its better you stay and then look for another job eventually. That, while staying in your present employer, try to look for another employer where you can transfer.
Perhaps it is better to do a little sacrifice for the meantime. Who knows, your sacrifices will give you a better reward after all.

If you are not satisfied with your current company, you should dish them. It is not worthwhile to work in a company who do not care for their employees. There are lot of companies out there who can satisfy you both financial and career wise. Good luck and happy mylotting!

Hello
sunnystarfish,
In my opinion you have to compromise somewhere in the job also may be with the profile, salary or other things like location of the work place, transportation facilities etc.In any case you won't be able to get these all things together.
It depends on you which thing you take on priority. For me if i say location & salary is important because i am the only earning member of the family secondly i need to look after some household works also.
Likewise you should see what is your priority say you want a good job profile which is as per you is in the current job. Rumors are rumors they sometimes can be fake first get it sure if these are real then take some decision as per my opinion if the company is going through financial crisis as it looks from you discussion its better to leave it as early as possible.

When you got the job you liked it. You were satisfied with the pay and everything, right? Jobs are not so easy to find. You may think the grass is greener somewhere else and find out you bit off your nose to spit your face. What I am saying is I would not throw away a good job with a paycheck fo a few cents higher someplace else. I never was one to go job hopping. I was loyal and was glad to have a job for over 20 years at one place. I'd think long and hard before changing jobs is all I am saying.

In this economic climate I would suffice it to say that a job is a job and i would stay right where I am. I would give it six months and if they haven't given you sufficient reason for not giving the salary increase, bonuses, and allowances then I would begin to look elsewhere. PLUS I certainly wouldn't quit this job until I atleast had the promise of another one.

Listen, jobs, especially ones you like, are very difficult to come by these days or haven't you noticed?
If they have not cut your salary or downgraded your position, you should stay. Bonuses are just that; if the company is doing well, then the bonuses will be good, if not, the employees should be willing to help the company and not give up just because you didn't get a bonuses, outside of your regular salary.
I say stick around for awhile to see if the company's gross revenue increases; you will be reward for your commitment to stay and support the company. However, if you decide to leave, just make sure you have a good job, one that you like as much as the current one, lined up. Otherwise, what would be the pointing in quitting your job?

I am going to tell the same thing that I tell everyone who asks if they should quit their job. If there is something that you are sure that you can fall back on and it is absolutely certain that you can get another job. Something concrete that you can fall back on that is, something that you can really sink your teeth into in many ways and can continue your life without any further disruptions. I have seen far too many times that people have in fact quit their jobs, thinking that they can fall back on something. But the job that they thought was going to be there, was not there.
Thus they are unable to find work for months and months and they are going to get extremely frustrated in many ways. So yeah if its really bothering you that something like this, leave, but only if something that you can really fall back on for sure comes on. Otherwise you are doing yourself a great disservice, as you will be unable to properly find the right job and lead to a multitude of headaches in the future. So start looking for new work but don't quit until you've found something.

Well it depends on many factors like your current income, job availability and many other factors. If you think you are not getting enough salary for your work and there are other jobs readily available then you can quit your current company. But if there are not many jobs available then you should stick with your current job. It may be difficult sometimes, but it is life. You have to make some hard decisions every now and then.

You should go for what your heart desires. If you think leaving the company is the best solution then resign! Just be sure that you can look for a job where in you will be happy and you'll receive bigger income and lots of privileges. And pray to GOD to make the best decision.
