I'm always confused to add tags to my discussions at myLot. How one should select the tag words for getting better responses?

Just use words that are associated with your discussion. I personally don't use tags anymore.

Mee too i just do not use them any more they are just a waste of time, first thinking of a few tags for your discussion and typing them in where as you could be replying to some interesting discussions here instead of wasting you time on the tags.

I would usually pick a word or words which are related to the subject matter, or the words to place emphasis on my response to the subject matter. There is not hard and fast rule to it, just a matter of classifying the response. One has options.

hi rashima the tags should relate directly to the topic of t he discussion like one on problems with autistic kids should maybe have tags like autism, help for autism, autistic kids in school etc., 'relate to the topic so the discussions can easily be found when you are looking for it.

The tag word should be words that relate directly to the topic you have posted. The reasoning is SEO. People can search for certain topics and come across your post and then respond etc. Whenever creating a new topic, try and search to se eif someone already created the same topic recently. As the many have stated simply used direct key words related to the topic and or subject of the discussion. Many will then later add their own in which they too feel is related to the discussion as well. It is quite important to tag as many will search the myLot search feature to assure their topic does not get duplicated and while some do not tag the search cannot find a discussion that does not have keywords. Simply do the best you can all usually works out in the end.

Hi rashima, If you choose to add tags, you should add tags that are relevant, and will give users a little hint to what your discussion is about. ;) There's not much to it really. As long as the tags are relevant to the discussion, they're fine. Just don't add inappropriate or irrelevant tags, because that is not allowed. If you're not going to tag correctly, then you shouldn't tag at all. Happy myLotting! :D
