I have told in my previous discussion
Have to move again on Monday http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2544783.aspx?p=0
And I will have to go. But today I got my 2 teeth extracted, one is front lower and the other is 6th upper molar.
I was getting much pain.
Now I am feeling better, I have to continue antibiotics for 5 days.
Have you ever got your teeth extracted? Was that painful?
The upper molar was strong, it needed more Xylocaine to be injected, and there was not much pain though.
I just wanted to inform you all.
Professor ‘*Bhuwan*’. .
Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

I had two teeth that were rotted due to health issues, and the wisdom teeth were too big for my mouth. I had no room for them to come in. It is quite common for wisdom teeth to be too big for a person's mouth nowadays.

hi professor wow thats sure not any fun. I have had to have all
my wisdom teeth pulled when I was in my mid twenties and oh my
the pain even though the dentist used a lot of novocain too.
Then I had one pulled where he gave me a little gas of some sort
and I did not have any pain but it really bled a lot.Seems the
roots were really tangled so he put me almost to sleep. lol still
even with less pain it was not my favorite thing to do. hope you feel better soon with no more pain or bleeding. hugs from hatley

I have had one tooth pulled like 8 years ago. It was my lfet front tooth. I was going to get a crown put on it but it ended up it needed pulled! At first my dentist was drilling to smooth it out. Well he didn't stop for along time! When he did I had only any tooth left! I had a cavity in it and the tooth needed to be pulled! I had a parcel made to take place of the missing tooth. I take it out at night but the rest of the time I wear it. It doesn't bother me!

This was purely my observation! No scientific relationship what so ever. All I can say is if this had to be done again I would definitely ensure it was done by a man! It makes sense at least in my mind. Who were the first scribes? Men. Strength and dexterity is heightened in men while women are more gentle. It's the nature of the beast so to speak.

Hai Professor! I know how painful is extraction of teeth. I have lost my 4 teeth including the right upper molar. For the right upper molar I had to go for X-ray after that doctor extracted it. During the session the doctor failed to extract that in full. Some portion was inside and I had to again undergone a more critical surgery for getting recovery. Hope you will recover soon.

I am ok dear sona
My wife had similar experience like yours, while extracting one of her upper molar, a portion remained, they used hammer and chisel to get the pieces out, it was such a scary thing, she said there was not much pain because of the injection to make the place numb..
Thanks for sharing
God bless you, have a nice day ahead.

Dear Professor
I am sorry to hear that you have been experiencing painful teeth. The extracting has to be painful after the anesthesia wears off, therefore, take it easy and do not put any cold fluids in the area, as this will make it much more painful.
Yes several years ago, my wisdom teeth would not come out on their own. I was told that they would fully come through at least by age 21. Oddly mine at age 25 they still felt like they wanted to come through and still no sign of them peeking through.
So finally I went to see a specialist and after x-rays was told the roots were tangled in the jaw which did not allow for the teeth to come up onto the surface. I was always swollen each time it flared up so they went in and had to dig both of mine out. Ouch it was quite painful indeed and like you I too was on antibiotics and pain medication and after about 2 weeks passing I felt so much relief. I have not had any issues since then.
I do hope all gets well with you.

Talking of tooth extraction -- yes I had once one of my teeth removed. It got spoilt and it was giving pain. I took antibiotics and I was cured say in two or three days.
But once I had been to a dentist when my daughter - she was 18 or so - for removing one of her teeth-- I was watching him remove her tooth. I got so much anger that I felt like hitting at him. (I did not hit). From that time I learnt it is better not be in the scene where some such examination was being done. Hope u might have also had similar feeling.
have a good day.

Normally they don't allow any person with the patient in the room during extraction or cleaning , polishing etc, yours was a special case i suppose, even they ask the person undergoing extraction to close eyes, so that you can't see the tools..
Thanks for sharing details
God bless you, have a nice day ahead.

I've experience of getting my tooth extracted in the past. The only painful part was when the anesthesia was injected. But it was just an "ant-bite' pain. After it has been extracted, there was no pain at all, I did not need to take any analgesics. But I did take antibiotics to prevent any infection and tranexamic acid to stop form bleeding.

I had my tooth extraction last month. It wasn't easy. I took 3 days off from work, doctors recommendation. So the good thing there- i was able to rest for some time. ;)
And of course, the pain and antibiotic medication should be taken religiously. :)

Hi Professor,
Ouch! Glad you aren't suffering much from the teeth being extracted. I'm a chicken when it comes to going to the dentist.. or used to be. I don't have any of my own teeth now for many years.. I have dentures. I need to get another set though, or want to that is. I don't like those shots to the jaw of Novocaine.. I just don't like it at all.. so painful!

Oh, that is so painful! I will do nearly anything to keep my teeth healthy, at least as much as I can afford. I still may have to have one extracted in the next couple of years but I hope not.
I had to have my wisdom tooth extracted almost 30 years ago and it was impacted. What a literal pain that was!! Luckily I was asleep and I got some very good pain medication to last me a few days. Later I had to have a couple extracted because I could not afford root canals and now have bridges where those teeth were. I made too much to get any kind of financial help but barely enough to pay the rent, bills and buy the cheapest kind of food--I did not even have a car but rode my bicycle 2 miles to work and 2 miles back. What a time that was!
I hope your sockets heal quickly and completely with no complication and very little pain.

hello professor,
i have had experienced tooth ache so severe that i could not sleep for days and my face became swollen on one side. the dentist would not get it right away because he said the anesthesia will not take effect as good as when the swelling has lowered down. that case, if he choose to pull the tooth, i will still feel the pain.
so i was given antibiotics and then after several days the tooth was pulled.
it was such a relief after.
i for one is very sensitive to pain. and the fear of having it pulled was there and i wanted to ran out. but thinking of my experience where i was suffering, one pain is better than a pain every day.
have a nice day.

Sweety
Seems you were scary of the injection and the pull, i like your statement, 'one pain is better than a pain everyday.
I had taken antibiotics for 5 days, that was 2 days before i visited the dentist, its effect was there.
now i am taking the course of 5 days.
they have put me in the guest house , it is lonely,
i will tell stories later
Thanks for sharing

I have never experienced anything like that to be honest but I heard it is really painful! Do they have you on some strong pain killers for the next few days while the body heals? Feel better!
