When Electricity is out and heavy rain falls, what do you do inside the house? There are lots of things needed to be done at home, but since there is no power, it is very hard to start anything. The only perfect thing to do is to eat and sleep. How about you guys?

Hi r3jcorp.. It all depends on whether it is day or night. If my electricity goes out in the day time I like to sit on my screen-in porch. And if it is at night I just curl up on the bed and take a nap. I keep oil lamps, and flash lights just for that occasion. I really don't like candles, even though I do have some of them too.

Hello Chevee... I don't like candles or lamps too but I do have rechargeable lamps and flashlights that is more comfortable to use and more powerful. A nap would be nice for me, either morning or night time. If I am not too lazy to work, I re-arrange things in the house like the closet or just read a book...

Its definately not like it used to be with phones and laptops etc to keep us occupied nowadays (providing they are charged!)
But candles and board games are always good
Maybe even reading under the candle light
but you cant go past eating and sleeping - two of my favourite things
It really is the perfect excuse to do nothing

Especially in a rain storm in the summer, I like to grab a book and head out on the porch to read and listen to the rain. Or in the winter, curl up on the couch and read. I have a book light if it gets dark before the power comes back on so reading is a great way to pass the time in the dark. :D

A nice book would be a terrific way to hold us on bed till we get sleepy. But now since I want to teach my daughter to have the habit of reading a book on idle times, I usually curl in bed with her and read a book with her. It is also a bonding moment with us. But yesterday, my older daughter has a drawing task so I help her think of something to draw.

Mostly during heavy rains , the electricity goes out here at my place. The very first thing i do is to switch the torch of my mobile.I don't go anywhere without my mobile as you never know when will electricity will go out. After doing that i carry out my usual chore like eating, cleaning but miss not being able watch tv or switch on computer so i switch on the radio on my phone or play the songs i keep in my phone's memory card.
