Nothing as far as I know of, I may go out with friends on this day but chances are I will just stay in and earn. I used to watch the fireworks on top of a hill but I doubt I will do that this year, or go out to where my friends usually go to. A nice cook out would be good, but meh that isn't going to happen either.

Somecowgirl: How come you do not gather some family and friends and have a cook out or go to a cook out? Fireworks are fun and loud! You should at least check em out.

We are actually driving out of town for the weekend. We are going to a small town 5 hours away to play some water activities with the kids. I hope that it would be away from a lot of people, as I really need to relax. Crossing my fingers.

I plan to spend 4th of July with my family at home, I try to avoid going out on days like these because of all crazy and drunk people that tend to go out in the street. My plans are to go to the pool with my kids, have a B-B-Que and then at night blow up some fire works, which my husband bought at Phantom Fire works a few weeks back. I am so looking forward to the long weekend, relaxing and having fun god knows we all need it.

Thats awesome I always wanted to do my own fireworks but was always afraid that I would blow my self up instead! I bet those fireworks were expensive. We can not buy them here in ohio. We usually have to find someone who lives in Pennsylvania to buy them for us!

Yes our communities have them. I live around 4 little towns and they all do them. The only thing is that we can not buy them and if someone is selling them in ohio then you have to have an out of state license to buy them and say that you are taking them out of the state to be set off. So we have a lot of ohioans who find people who have different state license to buy them

Well, trust me I won't be blowing them up, I will be sitting down enjoying them and watching them with my children, my hubby normally handles that part, he doesn't like me getting involved so that I won't get hurt. I think living in Ohio I would actually miss that, do you go anywhere to see the fireworks?

Well, I am going to a party today with my Husband's family and going to do a BBQ, watch fireworks, etc. Tomorrow I am going to a BBQ with some friends from my husbands work, and then Monday I have to work. But I think overall I will be ready for a break after 2 big days of Fun. Actually have been invited to other parties I have had to turn down.

We are not doing anything special today, but we went camping over the weekend with some friends and we went horseback riding as well. It is so much fun to be with friends and to ride our horses, plus I love camping!

I think my town has cut back on the firework display because of the economy. I'm not sure we are having one this year. I haven't read anything about it yet. However, I will still have a cookout and be with friends and family. I will probably drink a little bit. I'm not a big drinker though.

BlueGoblin: awwwww that is a bummer but yeah I can see what they mean about the economy. I bet they take a lot of stuff away for the economy where you live. A cookout is great and hanging with the family but usually the fireworks are the big finale! But I am sure you will have a great time anyways! Make sure you drink one for me too! I will have the kids so I will not be drinking. This year will be my baby's first fireworks. I wonder if she will like them or be frightened?

This festival is also called independence day. It is was the day where we declared independence with great Britain in 1776. Here is a link where you can learn more about it if you are interested in doing so! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independence_Day_%28United_States%29

Yeah sometimes going to see the fireworks can bring a lot of traffic and crazy people who go dumb instantly all of a sudden Well at least where I live anyways. But I have children so I know that they enjoy it and it will be worth it for them. I am hoping this 4th of July will be good. This will be the first 4th of July that me and my boyfriend get to spend together and we have been together for 2 years

There is not much to do this fourth of July since my mom has my daughter for two weeks. I guess I'll probably go to a cookout and probably watch the fireworks with my sweety!

Enjoy yourself while it lasts. I seem to never be able to get rid of all my kids at once. I just get breaks from some of them. The baby does not go anywhere so I always have at least one child to tend to.

I guess it would really be a vacation then. You can never underestimate the effect of a few days without the kids. And just focus on yourself. Have a great time! And welcome to myLot!
