I got my sore eyes from my friend last week and it just got out yesterday. Which means I need to be home and stay in so that nobody else would get it - it's contagious. The doctor says that I need about 2 weeks to stay-in and I am not sure about it. I mean, what happens to my job? Further, he told me that I shouldn't strain my eyes from too much television, reading and internet. Which means, I cannot stay here long. Anyway, have you gotten sore eyes? How did you manage or deal with it? Is it okay for me to go work? Today is the 2nd day and my eyes are puffy so I'm pretty sure I can't sneak into work without anyone noticing. Have a great MyLot experience today!

don't get your eyes strained. so don't stay long in here. I once have that. I didn't go see a doctor, I prescribed my own medicine. LOL. I treated my sore eyes with Maxitrol. I think I only had it cured for just 4 days. It didn't take too long for me to heal. Thanks to Maxitrol, it's very effective for me. You might want to try it too. Get well soon. See ya around. :)

I know, I haven't been staying too long here in mylot and online, I just go here once in a while to check but not more than 10mins so that I won't get my eyes strained. As for Maxitrol, it's not available in the Pharmacy close to my house but they do have Inofloxcin something. Is it normal for the eyes to be blurry or painful when applying the med? I don't know if it's doing it better or making it worst. So far it's the 2nd day and I'm really bored now. Anyhow, thanks for the thoughts and I do hope that this would be better tomorrow.

It's normal to be blurry and hurt. I did use sunglasses even at home or even in my room. To avoid my eyes from straining and avoid dusts to come to my eyes. Get well soon.

I would think with something like this, there would be more that a person could do. Maybe some type of drops, etc. to help so that you could go to work. I have never heard of infections this bad that are this contagious, but when it comes to your eyes and sight, I am sure this was something that was not Fun for sure.

I did use drops but the doctor said that infection was rather stronger than usual. It's good though that I didn't pass it on to someone else. It all ended with my. I guess my isolation worked out well. Hehehe... Thanks for dropping by!

laydee if the doctor called it pink eye yes its extremely contagious and if you go to work all your workmates will likely get it too. I am sorry if that is what it is as you really should not go to work among other people.it is contagious and in schools a lot of children come down with it from each other. its best to stay away for two weeks. is there anyway you could do your work from home via computer? You need to tell your boss you have contagious pink eye and need a way to make up your work as you really should not be around other people.your doctor was not joking I have had it and it spreads to other people ,. its miserable but you will get over it. the bad thing is you are asked not to be around other people for a valid reason.

I know, I have already filed for leave but still there are just things I can't let go of, because I would need more time to go double time the next time I go to work. Anyhow, right now my eye is fine, it's just that I can't really go online a lot because I am afraid to strain my eyes. Thanks for the thoughts, I hope sore-eyes would be eradicated in the world soon, it's really an annoying disease!

Oh I hope you won't get one ever! I know that it seems not a bad idea to have 2 weeks off because of some eye problem (where you can actually walk, talk, eat, and much about do anything you want because it's just the eye). However, if you're in the situation, you'd probably agree with me when I say that I's a pretty annoying disease! First, you cannot stare at something without your eyes feeling tired soon. The television or the computer is much too glaring to look at and causes pain and discomfort in your eye after a few minutes! Even texting is difficult to do! Not to mention that when you sleep, and then wake up. You'd wake up as if your lids were glued together and it's all teary and yucky all over! There there's that sandy feeling in your eye that you'd wish you could pull your balls off and just wash them with soap! Whew! I am not enjoying this time but I did have a good medicine that I think would make me be able to go to work tomorrow or this Monday instead for a full 2 weeks. Thank you for dropping by! Have a great MyLot experience today!

Oh! And thank god, that doesn't infect my eyes through the net! lol Hey, I have a remedy, I use it when I get this irritating thing. Squeeze a lemon on a diluted mixture of honey and water. This is Ayurvedic. Apply it in the eyes after getting up in the morning. And yes, I am just advising. It is up to you to use. However, I would say honey and lemon are always good to eyes.

Thank you for the advise, however, I don't think I'd try that for now because it may interact with the present medicine prescribed by my doctor. But next time (oh I hope there won't be a next time!) I'm just so bored. Anyhow, thank you for dropping by!

Just sleep. probably wear glasses or shades when going to school if you're going to teach. probably have them do assignments and have a student teacher take responsibility of things probably not as hard.

I don't think I should sleep, I slept earlier and it made my eyes puffier and redder. I think they look better when I'm awake instead of sleeping. Anyway, I did call on to class earlier and sent them a seatwork via email for them to do while I'm away, I just don't think I could do this for the whole week (or two, hope not). I'm really very bored now, that's why even if it's not allowed, I go online once in a while, most especially if I think of some good topic for MyLot. Thanks for the advise. Have a great MyLot experience!

It is monsoon time so the time for the sore eyes also. This decease crops up when the monsoon takes a break. As you rightly pointed out it is highly contagious and one needs to guard against the spreading of the same by not coming in contact with others and put on protective goggles to avoid direct viewing into other's eyes. I get this decease almost every year during this period. There is an antibiotic gel to be applied to the eyes during this decease which helps one to recover fast.

What was that get called and how quickly did it work? I need something that could heal this in lesser time because I cannot afford to be absent for the whole 2 weeks. I'm just actually waiting for the swelling to minimize and the reddening to stop, if it's no longer that obvious I am planning to go to work.

In an office, specially if it is a fully air conditioned one, a sore eyes could really contaminate your office mates. Hence, it is imperative that if one has a sore eyes, the employee has to really be absent. I have experienced having a sore eyes and it took me 3 days before it got well. just religiously put the optical ointment which your doctor has prescribed. Plus, refrain from using the computer because that will aggravate the soreness of your eyes. Rest your eyes, listen to soothing music and eat fruits and vegetables and make yourself as comfortable as you can.
