To everyone who watched last night's PGT, will you agree with me, when i say that he is more talented than Jovit, who won last year's PGT. Imagine, he can sing in a woman's voice and at the same time in a man's voice so beautifully.
Did you hear how he sang Prayer last night and last Saturday's. It's unbelievable! It's beautifully rendered. Really!

Hello Simplyd,
That's the Spirit, though i haven't watch that last night, it's complementing that ABS is really going for the true blooded Filipinos who can sing. i think there is a future lies ahead for his man. we should always be proud of our race when it comes to singing, it's hard ot believe that more talented Filipinos are showing up indeed.

It's one thing we could also be proud of aside from boxing (Manny Pacquiao). I remember my friend who got married to an american, she's also a good singer. Her hubby saw charice pempengco sing, and he frantically asked my friend, is there any Filipino who doesn't know how to sing? Even the small ones are just so great at singing????
Well, Filipinos really have this great talent and passion for singing. And that's one we could be proud of! Hail to Marcelito! Great Victory! A well deserved one.

Yes. I loved his rendition of "the prayer". He was truly deserving to win the contest. I have one prevalent observation this year though, the ratings between happy feet and the winner is a close call. Unlike last year that Jovit won in a landslide votes!
I am looking forward to his performances at other kapamilya shows.

I think, the contestants gets better and better each season, so that explains for the close difference in the percentage of the votes.
So, choosing Marcelito means he is really the best of all.
Yes, his rendition of The Prayer is superb!

Its a lot saying that people are torn between Marcelito and Happy feet not only because of their respective skills and talents. Other factor such as their life stories also helped the voters determine their choice of winner.

After watching the grand finals last Saturday, I knew Marcelito was going to be one of the top 3 finalists. When they announced the top 3, I knew he was going to win it. Based from the screaming audience during his performance Saturday and Sunday night, it was kinda predictable.
While I liked Marcelito, I also wanted NielBeth to win. They were awesome during the grand finals. I kinda liked Rico the magician, too, but his finals night performance was so-so. But he was cool during the dance number, he made me laugh there.
By the way, Marcelito was once a contender for Talentadong Pinoy, but unfortunately he lost against the challenger back then (forgot who that was). I guess losing there became his sort-of boon because he won in PGT.

I guess the difference is that in Talentadong Pinoy, the winner was chosen by a jury and talent scouts. In PGT, the winner is determined by the public, the Filipinos who voted for him. In my opinion, him winning in PGT means that he is adored by millions of Filipinos and not just a chosen few. So I think he got the bigger victory.

So, Marcelito was also a contender at Talentadong Pinoy, yet lost. Does it mean to say, the judges at PGT have a lower criteria than Talentadong Pinoy.
I too, when the top 3 was announced was already sure Marcelito will win. The applause of the audience was far more greater than that for the others.

I wasn't a fan, till I heard him sang that song. I just uttered "a well deserved" win. Yes, not everyone can sing that song alone with different voice. a voice of a great female and male artist packed in just one person Marcelito.
I was amazed how he beautifully sang it without being short on notes specially on the female voice of her. That was just great. In other words, I am with you.

Yes, that song made me a fan of him too . Previous songs were just ordinarily rendered but of course the voice is beautiful and distinct. But that particular song brought out a talent that any singer doesn't have. Imagine a boy and a girl's voice, beautifully rendered. That, made me felt that he will win.

i didn't see him perform in the finals night. But I saw him sing after he was declared the winner. And I can't help but applaud for such a great piece he delivered! Hail Marcelito!

of all the singers in that competition, those trios and bands, i can say only Marcelito chose the right song... he chose a beautiful song that showcased his talent very well. that band Skeights, disappointed me (their guitarist is my friend, hehe) their song was so lame , Liwanag sa Dilim. but when they played with 6CycleMind they went wild and everything.. why didnt they show that energy before??? Marcelito is soooo worth the 2 million. and Jovit on the other hand made some changes... he used to sing the original version with his beautiful "rockstar" voice, but when he sang last night, just like other singers, he singed the song with his "own" tune which made that "too much love will kill you" ugly. :(

Yes, tha performance of Marcelito last night showcased his real talent. It was brilliant of him to show to the world that he got what it takes to be the PGT winner.
That's right, Jovit sang differently last night.

I agree with you tammy! Marcelito chose a nice song to display his talents. It really complements his voice. That made him the winner. But still I'm not a total fan of him since I know that a lot of performers in comedy bars and the like also has tremendous skills in shifting their voices. The only difference is that Marcelito is a true guy while the ones I have heard were gays.

Marcelito is the best "doble kara" singer in the country. I think he is the only one who can sing male and female voice with perfect tones, singing effortless, changing one tune to another. It seems that he has two voice box in him. Though many talented singers do "doble kara" acts, no one ever does as perfect as the two voices of Marcelito. And that really is a talent and a very amazing one...

That's very true. Although a lot of Music Box performers can do "doble Kara", voices, no one could compare to him doing them effortlessly and beautifully.

What I also like about Marcelito is that he doesn't have to dress up in half-drag because he does "doble-kara." His performance with a simple attire and styling really drew more attention to his remarkable voice -- which always should be the case.

I'd say that Marcelito has an edge over Jovit since he can sing to genres of music beautifully. His woman voice didn't impress me that much. His natural voice, however, did, because he sounds just like Josh Groban. I was stunned when he sung "The Prayer" and I believe he deserves to be the winner.

Unlike you , i was impressed by both his two voices. I even listened to him with a closed eyes, and it seems that it was indeed a woman singing on some parts of The Prayer which he sang. Truly a winner.

i'm not really a fan of marcelito, i voted for neilbeth tandem. but after hearing how he sang the song "prayer" last night i was really amazed. it was the first time i ever heard someone sang with 2 voices so perfectly. even if its not neilbeth who won the in the PGT grand finals i could say its a well-deserved win. congratulations marcelito! congratulations to all filipinos too, we should really be proud being filipino! god bless.

So your former bet was neilbeth. Mine is Happy Feet, until i have heard Marcelito sing Prayer.
I salute Marcelito for winning the PGT. He deserved it.

That's true, he sang beautifully and effortlessly. For a true man to be able to sing like a true woman and at the same time can sing like a true man, is really a talent.

I did not watch the show. I am not aware of the show as people around me are not talking about it. Maybe there's no one around my place who are aware of the show...just wondering why students in my place are not talking about it? When there's something sensational, I always find students talking about it almost doing nothing but talk and talk about it.This time I heard nothing of this show !

Maybe none of your students watched it. It started a bit late in the evening already. I have to watch it because the previous night was the final show for their talents and that Sunday was the electronic counting of the votes, that closed in the middle of the show. Then, the announcement of the winner.
It was an entertaining show because the 14 finalists get to perform together with some celebrities.

He is truly so talented!!! And he is a pride of our city! :D He's from our place and believe it or not, he was just a pin boy in a bowling center here and now, WOW! He is already a millionaire!
WE are so proud of him and we're hoping he'll come home for the fiesta! :D

Really? For sure Marcelito will be invited for your hometown fiesta. But of course, it will now for a certain "honorarium". But, that would still be up to the generosity of Marcelito.

I agree that he is more talented than the last year's winner but there are also more deserving contestants last night than Marcelito. The madrigal singers are also worth the prize. But that's life the winner catches the attention of the viewer more and voted for him.

I guess, people have different preferences and bet for that night. My bet was Happy Feet, but on second thought, when they dance it was the same dance, tap dance, as always.
Marcelino on the other hand had a change of style which showcased his real talent, singing with the voice of a girl and a boy. I couldn't agree more for his winning the PGT.
