How to start a home-based business

I wish I could answer that question. I have been looking, too. The only real money I have made online has been from selling yard sale finds on auction sites. I hope you get a lot of good answers to this.

The best home business is one you're passionate about. Without that, it'll turn to drudgery and annoyance very quickly. Personally, I'd look for something I could do for free (i.e. not a franchise) unless I was 100% sure I'd love it. That's why I'm a freelance writer. What skills do you have? What are you good at? What do you enjoy? What do you think someone would pay you to do for them? What kind of investment do you want to make (time, money, etc.) if any? What kind of return are you looking for? These are all good questions to ask yourself before you start researching your potential market, working out business plans and all that kind of thing.
