Recently, I was watching "Insidious" at Saturday night alone at home, not realize this horror movie was that scary. On half way of this movie, I just couldn't bear to go on, since all the horror scene, and the mysterious ghost haunt the little boy. I fast forward the movie, I can catch some basic idea what was going on with this movie. At the end, I just couldn't watch the whole movie. I fast forward the scary part, and play the conversational parts.
I just discovered that myself wasn't like before. I could watch a horror movie alone before, like the abnormal activity 1 & 2. Now, I just cowardly can't watch other horror movies. What is wrong with me?

hi,
me too,i cant watch horror movies alone especially at night, since before i cant watch horror movies alone until now, maybe because i am a little bit of frightened to be alone because i can feel when there's something i mean im not alone,so when i wanted to watch horror movies i want to be with my sister or my niece as long as i am not alone.

I know a lot of people who can't watch horror movies alone at night! It's perfectly normal. Quit worrying. Invite some friends over to watch them with you, it's more fun any ways. Or you can just watch some comedies instead.

OH GOSH just watching the previews for that movie scared me! I would not dare try to watch it alone. I really don't know if I want to watch it with someone else either. I think you were brave to attempt it. I normally do not watch scary movies alone.

I have no problem watching any horror movie yet,no matter how late it is at night and how scary the scenes are,but I guess that might happen to me as well one day;I guess I'm so used with reality which is like a nightmare in many occasions, that I'm not impressed by horror movies any more because they are only fiction, but when I hear about prices rising again, growing unemployment in my country and people getting poorer and poorer, that's the true horror show for me.

I don't think anything is wrong with you. When I'm by myself, I try and avoid watching scary movies because I know I'll get really freaked out. I won't fast forward through the scary parts though because I don't want to miss the movie. If it becomes too scary when I'm by myself, I'll just turn it off and watch something that's not scary at all.

Best choice is to watch horror movies along with friends. It's even more exciting and funny at the same time when you notice the reaction of your buddies. I watched Insidious several days ago, along with my friends, and I could say that's a five-star horror movie.

All to often Horror movies are nothing more than gore and blood. It is how violent and horrible can I make the movie. What you need to watch are some good suspense movies. Alfred Hitchcock was famous for taking an every day situation and making a suspenseful movie out of it. his movies are better than the modern Horror Flicks of today.

I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with not being able to watch a horror movie alone at night. I can't watch a horror movie in a crowd of people during the day. I'm not someone who likes to bask in fear and it doesn't take much to get me freaked out. I avoid horror movies altogether. I think it would be unhealthy if you did watch them alone at night all the time. You'd have nothing but nightmares.

Horror movie is the one of my favorite, and almost never afraid to watch alone. It seems it will feel even more meaningfull when I'm watching alone. Because it will spur our adrenaline. In my opinion, that's the vision of horror movie, just for rising our adrenaline, than we will gain pleasure to watch. So do not be afraid..enjoy it!

Dude, you have to relax! You might be dwelling in too much with the story, or maybe even the special effects. So much so that you're imagining things whenever you're alone, or even at night. But of course, it's a bad idea for you to watch those kind of movies alone. :D

Hopefully, nothing's wrong with you. I do stand Horror Movies, it's just that something about haunting and non-explainable horrors makes me feel totally scared. If you need some good tips to make sure you're not scared during watching horror movies ALONE, Here you go:
1. Turn ON the lights. Dark situations gonna freak you out.
2. Make sure you have some distractions. Full-Focus on the movie gonna get you totally surprised when something suddenly came out.
EX: Just cover your face with a bolster or pillow so that you don't watch it partially.
3. Turn DOWN the volume, Those BIG sounds gonna surprise you many times you know
4. Press STOP is only for the last resort.
Well... it's a little off topic, but at least this helps you to watch another "I'm too scared to watch this ALONE/at Night" Horror Movies.
These tricks actually helped me to get through seeing some scary horror movies.

I don't think there is something wrong with you.
I am also not afraid of watching horror movies alone in the middle of the night.
But there are times that i feel something different,or made me feel scared a bit, even if i am not watching a horror film.
It's just like having uneasiness that can not be explained.

hi there kingparker.
same here. i've got the same problem. before i could watch a horror movie alone, because getting scared is a bit what i like. but when i watched this one ghost movie, not being alone, well, kinda alone coz i watched it at the cinema - alone. when i got scared, i do really got scared to the point that i couldn't bear to look at the big screen with the chilly atmosphere going on there.
maybe too much horror thoughts makes me like this...

Reading this, I recognize myself. I hope that nothing is wrong with us! :)
Since I was a child I can't see any scary movies since I saw Scream (ok, I know, that's not a really scary movie, but I was a child at the time).
