In the Yahoo news there are more than 300 species discovered in the Philippines. One of it is an inflatable shark. These species where only discovered in Luzon area coz. Hmmm i wonder how many more can they discover if they will go through the entire Philippines. Meaning we Philippines is really has alot to discover, love and care. When are we going to do that? Let us start saving our country while we can.

This is great news! The Philippines will sure be known to the world even more with these discoveries. It's also exciting to know that we still don't know even half of the species in our world. And the most exciting part is, it's just in our own country. What a great news indeed!

It is to be expected since there are a lot of species discovered in Austronesian countries, especially the Galapagos and Easter Islands. You'll see how many species are discovered in the lands around us by watching the documentaries "Charles Darwin and the Tree of Life" and "Lost Gods of Easter" of the Attenborough in Paradise series - both of which are hosted by Attenborough. There are a lot more evidences of specie discoveries which aren't given attention by our government and fellow countrymen. Some are very known like the Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi) and Philippine mouse deer (Tragulus nigricans). There are even some species featured in Matanglawin last Sunday (Rizal's birthday) which are discovered by Rizal himself here in the Philippines.

I agree with the statement above. Our country is very rich in natural resources and yet we only take if for granted. I also read from Inquirer that an underwater hotel is being built in Coron, Palawan. I was really disappointed when I read about that because Coron is one of those remaining few virgin islands here in our country. To build an underwater hotel means destroying the biodiversity under the sea. The natives in Coron are protesting against this project. Let us all pray that they will succeed in doing so. There are more species to be discovered in our country. And if we DO discover new ones, we have to treasure and take care of it. I wondered at first why the scientists at the California Academy did not disclose the name of the place where they discovered the shark..but I now realized why. The want to preserve the place.

OMG really! that sad to know :-( Palawan has always been our entry to 7 wonders of the world. Hope they would realize that things that had happen to us. Flood is everywhere due to our doings. We must stop this illegal logging. Hope government will realize and evaluate some major problems we have here right now. than focusing on divorce or what. They must start preserving our natural resources that would lift up from poverty. Government must do some projects to help those people who has no work. The government people must start looking things around them not among themselves on how they will get rich. SAd to know we never really care what God has given us ;-(

This only means that our country is blessed with so many good things and yet people have no concern about them. We can start loving this country ans saving it by starting our own waste management program and by simply doing our little share of disposing our waste properly.

I agree with you. Waste management mus implement the entire country. We also must start planting trees and preserve some of our forest.
