Oh, not so good.A well established site can be hacked so there 's nothing safe in the web now.In the news too, a week ago where a US government agency, I can't recall the name of the agency was also penetrated by hackers.I have a blog in WordPress before I just tried it for a year but now I only use the free site.
I hope WordPress remedied it soon.

Yes , I guess that's the price for the introduction of newer technology.People are getting smarter but some used it in the wrong way.

I guess I use .com as it hasn't affected me in the least.
It's clear that whoever owns the .org site doesn't have enough safety measures in place to prevent this kind of thing. Most sites are so secure that even if a hacker gets in and changes things, it automatically reverts back to where it was.

They got in through a back door by disguising malware and uploading it in some addons, it seems (though how they did that is worrying!). Apparently it only affects the .org users (I'm a .com customer, where everything's clamped down tighter, so won't suffer).
There's an article about it here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/internet/8594189/WordPress-forces-users-to-change-passwords-after-malware-attack.html
Apparently the affected plugins are AddThis, WPTouch, and W3 Total Cache. You're only really affected if you use those but WP's forced a reset on all .org passwords as a safety measure.
Thanks for pointing this out!

I've installed wordpress on my site and I haven't encountered this. I stopped using Addthis plugin because of other issues it had. But hey thanks for the heads up, at least I'd know this is even possible. I've always believed wordpress will never hacked. lol.

I didn't use wordpress for any of my blog, so I didn't know it was hacked. Nowadays, it is common for these sites to be hacked, and they should have security better prevent such thing to happen. I hope that everything will be okay again with wordpress, and I can sign it up too.

A little insight to everyone their is no perfect security had ever implement today. Hacker today gain significant tools which can exploit any system. Therefore don't worry about that accident Wordpress will tighten more their security and will be strict next time after that incident. Take note if things will not be modified then you will be in a greater risk in other word security of the Wordpress will be improving and it will place every client to an ease.

OMG! It's a good thing that I already closed my account there before it happened. I can't imagine how much damage it'll cause. :(
