I am playing the guitar for I guess all my life and whenever I feel tired, I'll just grab it and start playing. In this sense, I become aware of my own self making me feel more energized and happy that even if there's a lot of stressful events in life, it's a good thing we have this method to get us out of it in just a simple snap.
I just got home from my 2nd day of pre employment training, and I am really tired. I want to sleep but what else could I do except to share my ideas here in mylot. So what about you guys? What is the effect of playing your guitar every time you are stressed?

I understand. Though I'm a pianist and not a guitarist, I feel the same when playing the piano. The stress fades away and I don't notice usually that it's already mid night and I started playing at 5pm. Playing an instrument is definitely a stress reliever for mainly because it's my passion.

Wow it's a good thing for me knowing that I have someone who shares the same passion for music. It is really a stress relieving activity and also it acts as a relaxation method. I play the guitar also when I get home from work and it take me almost 5hours to play it.

Yes I also agree with you about music music being a relaxation method. Another fun stuff about playing an instrument is that it feels like the time stops, that you're in a different world, and the more you enjoy, the more you won't notice the time running.

Well yeah, the same thing for me also. It's like you are in a new dimension other than here and it's like you hands has its own mind moving to make melodies as your brain softly relaxes through the melody.

The stress for you was caused because it is a new place, new training, new people. Stress can be got over by playing music, listening music, by going out for sight seeing, watching television cinema/music.
I do listening to music in TV. It relieves stress to a large extent. When u are tired it is advisable to sleep listening to music.
music is a pain killer, music is a healer of diseases to some extent. good day.

The benefits of guitar playing include helping to relieve stress since while playing you can temporary take your mind off your own problems. The harmony produced from playing also acts as an anti-depressant mechanism as it lightens your mood and lifts your spirits. When you learn to play the guitar you can impress your friends and other people around you. The guitar can also be played in one's spare time helping to mitigate boredom.

I find that any kind of music helps me stress to fade, and playing my guitar is certainly a way in which I can remove some of the stress from my life. Whenever I am feeling as though everything is getting a little bit too much for me, I like to take myself to another room and start to sing and play my guitar. Learning my favourite songs is one of the best things that I can do, because I like to be able to sing the songs that calm me down, instead of having to listen to somebody else sing them. Music is a wonderful gift, and everyone who is able to play it really should know just how lucky they are.

I do feel revitalized when playing Guitar. There's something about playing that can ease your stress. Especially when you get some good riffs going. Or find a new sound you like. It's also fun when you figure out something new to do while playing guitar. Harmonics for example are pretty fun to play, but there is a trick to playing them.

I don't play guitar but I think for me, being a writer, if I get involved in my writier my stress faded abit. We all have something that will snap us out of it. My grandson helps me too. He comes in and tells me he loves me just out of the blue and that is a nice plus to my day.

This make me miss my guitar. I often enjoy my time with myself alone because I have my guitar with me. But now, I don't have it around. Aah, I have to buy another one soon. Playing the guitar makes me calm and relaxed. It's actually a good way to release my stress.

I wish I knew how to play guitar . I have never had any lessons but have tried learning it on my own but it seems I do need someone to train me in person coz I couldn't do it on my own. Anyway right now I do not really have the money or the time to get some lessons so I guess I have to wait. But it's amazing how some people learnt how to play the guitar online.
