Help me about blackberry

Hai friends am a student.I bought blackberry pearl 8120 from ebay.in the item is excellent though it is used one.But after getting my blackberry i came to know i should activate blackberry services seperately to browse net in that it cost me 10usd per month for unlimited plan.I want your suggestion that to sell this mobile or keep it with me only and is there any special feature of blackberry am a newbie to smartphones help me

I am a very long time Blackberry user and have owned the pearl many moons ago. I am since upgraded several times and though the pearl is a great phone there are other upgraded better models.
It depends what you will be using your Blackberry phone, but I can tell you that you cannot use a data phone without the plan. Whomever is offering you the data plan for $10 is quite a deal.
See most plans here start at $15.00 additional to the cell phone call plan and that is a limited type plan. Most unlimited plans are $30.00 - $60.00 per month and only for the data. Therefore, if you like the pearl and can get the data unlimited for $10 I would say go for it.

Right but with Blackberry will not get that cheap of a fee, so if you feel your nokia is a better value then I would stick with that. See blackberry's are great but only depending on what you need it for, as they are more business type phones as opposed to simply fun trendy phones.
Don't get me wrong they are fun, as I have owned them for years but what I mean is that sometimes they have way too many features you will not need.

Hello sadeneni ! welcome to mylot. I think u are a student and are desirous of having a plan that is workable. Yes. You may be having laptop and browsing facilities in that. You may be using cell phone only when u go out for browsing and that too rarely. Under the circumstances even $3 plan must be sufficient for your use. Of course u are the better judge. As HWG told rightly in blackberry there are many features which many may not use - but u are a student and will be inquisitive to learn more and use--if u give priority for that then go for $10 plan. have a nice day.
