Some students are fight for this to achieve the seat on first bench in school. Three days before my brother's daughter was came in my house and yesterday she was telling me I want to go. Because she wants to joining school from first day. I asked the reason then she was telling me she want catch seat on first bench otherwise she will got last bench seat. In your school or college life which seat you wants first or last and if you will not get first bench then you can fight or upset for it or leave it and seat it on last bench and enjoy it share you thoughts and share your college or school life days.

I think it is just a preference. I always liked the front as I was a bookworm. Always paying attention and felt that the front seatings had no distractions. Most I knew liked the back but there they could chat and mingle. Being a single mom during my college days I had not time to waste therefore, paying attention in class was quite important to me, as later at home I did not have much time to waste.

Hello Ms. Rathi, I think, it is not necessary, but preferable. Sitting on front seat in a classroom has many benefits, like: 1. It provides us with great attention to what the teacher or professor is teaching or saying. 2. There are no distractions between pupil and teacher. It is like face-to-face conversation which gives deep insight of the subject and makes the topic clear. 3. It keeps (a studious) student away from other activities generally happening at back rows. 4. There is no trouble in asking any doubt by sitting in front seat. 5. Teacher can also pay his/her attention to you and can give you personal feedback. 6. Due to easiest approach, teacher can easily check your notebooks and make any remark if needed. and so on... So, overall, I think for a student who aims good rank or percentage, front seats gives additional benefits and should be preferred. During my school time, our class teacher had made a rule that every week one row will shift forward. So, from front seat we used to go to last seat and then gradually in a few weeks, we used to come back to front seat once again for a week. We all liked this idea and there was no more "front-seat wars" among us. This rotational sitting plan was then adopted by our whole school. This also helped the teacher to control those mischievous student who used to sit at the last row and used to create distractions and disturbances.

It was my pleasure Ms. Rathi. Actually, your topic compelled me to remember my school days, rather primary school days. All the fun and great memories became alive with your topic. I was remembering my LKG, HKG, first, second, third class classmates...I really enjoyed giving response to it. Actually, thank you for this topic and for selecting my response as best.

For me, it never really made a difference where I was sitting in the classroom because I knew that I was there to learn, thus it didn't matter to me if I was sitting in the front of the classroom or in the back of the classroom. However, there are a lot of people that believe that they can only learn effectively if they are at the front of the classroom. I would assume that is the situation with your niece.

I always preferred the last bench : I was able to have a better view of what was happening. I have been tricked once, I was 11 years old, and the teacher asked the first day those on the first bench to exchange their places with those on the last bench, and I missed my heater during the winter. I spent all my college years on the last bench : we were 1200 the first year, and only five authorized to do a PhD. Being on first or last bench does not improve or damage a brain.

If you are tall sit on back bench. If you have sight problem or interested on syllabus you can sit on first row. And the teacher's voice is also main problem it has to reach to last bench.

Normally in colleges front benches are never occupied. Yes. they remain vacant whenever we go for taking classes. There is competition for occupying last row benches. We should appreciate your niece for desiring to take the front bench. In fact some people use to say that people who sit in the first row are people who are confident about themselves and normally succeed. of course generalisation cannot be made in this regard. In a few classes I have seen the topper sits in the last row. good day.

Perhaps I am not a good student. I always like to sit in the last bench. As the teacher will not notice what I am doing in the classroom. Perhaps I am talking secretly, or reading another book etc. At least I feel relaxed in the last bench. I love China

I am at University, and hardly anybody chooses to sit on the front bench in our lecture theatres. However, I like to sit there because it is the only place where you can be sure that you'd hear the lecturer without their talking being drowned out by the people who chat at the back of the room. My friends don't like sitting right at the front, so I usually compromise and sit about three rows back where we all feel comfortable where we are sitting, and we can still hear everything that it being said in the lecture.

I never seated on the first bench surekha to prove that i am intelligent guy and who wish to get knowledges faster than others. I never give more preference who seat on the first bench on my class. As a professor all students are equal to me and i know that i student from the last bench may be meritorious. Have a nice day.

hi, First bench not every one like to be .However for kids the first bench is a very interesting thing as they can always get teachers attention. And they will be nearby to teacher and it will be good for going and coming. I when at school never seen that i am sitting where just was intersted to be anywhere just i see whether i can see the blackboard and can hear wht the teacher is telling and teaching us.Mostly i liked to have frinds around so that it would be helpful for noting down things.

That's kinda funny to me coz in my school we had the exact opposite. Students used to fight for the last seat in the class . When I was in junior high, everybody wanted the last seat and nobody wanted to be seated in the first row.

In the university, you are free to choose the seat.As i know, most students don't like to sit in the first bench. But i'd like to sit there.the main reason is that i can see the ppt clearly.for my part, you are ok wherever you sit when you can listen to class.

The topic is very interesting for everyone who were student and is being student and almost everyone can puts his/her experience here, i always sit purposely in the last bench as i had fear from teacher offcourse because i could not answer the asked question mosly but what the teacher ever did he hold my ear and drag me to the first bench ever and now i realized that if a student sit in fron desk will get full attention of his/her teacher and gett learn more

Dear friend, I feel it is the student's choice to be in the class more closely and more the close to teacher, the teaching could be know more better. Moreover if there is any note kept by the teacher or any referral books it could be also seen mostly by those first benches students. But I feel the final result comes may be even those last bench student could get the 1st rank. It may depends upon a students talent to get the right knowledge and use it in the right way.

I remember when I was in school first row seats are never occupied. In fact students prefer the seats at the back to hide from their teachers. When there's a concert or a performance on the gym though, the front benches are always occupied because people from the back dont want anybody blocking their view!

During my College days, i usually would seat on the front row. But that is, for those subjects i like . But for those that i don't like, and one of them is Math, i would usually seat on the bakseat together with my friends. It is because , i hate being called to solve those equations on the blackboard .

I use to sit in the front in my school days, but there were the students who never liked to sit there. I never minded to sit in the back also but it will make you more disturbance because it can distract you from the studies. I started the college life and then I never sit in the first bench. Sometimes I remembered the school days and tried the front benches but I did't like it in college times.

Eh-eii, do you know how long ago it was when I was going to college?? :D Never mind. So back then I was from the naughty students and I was always sitting at the back. Unfortunately there was a professor who was always saying that the back seats are for the bad students and he always fails them. Well I got my exam from the first time but my point is that the perception of the people was that the front seats are for the bright kids. I don't know how it is now.

Are you one hundred percent sure she is not having any issues with her eyes? I'm just stating this because I had a mate in my class who always refused to sit on other benches in school apart from the first ones and after doing several researches regarding his actions, I noticed that he suffered from myopia but he refused to tell his parents, under any circumstances, about it in order to not pay the ophthalmology doctor a visit and wear glasses.
