Is it important that a Taekwondo Instructor is in good shape!

If you are an instructor you should be in better shape than the average person.

I think so too.
Sometimes old age, injuries, and problems can make instructor bad in shape.
Good teaching skills, leadership, discipline, and friendliness more important.
But I'm sure you know that already.

For me thats not a reason at all, if your teaching hard no reason that your an overweight

I would think so. I once saw a Kung Fu instructor who was barely five feet tall and as skinny as could be! He didn't instill a lot of confidence!
But I suppose that skill combined with good teaching ability matters most. I have seen a lot of good martial arts fighters who just couldn't teach at all.

If you are a good fighter it does not mean you are a good teacher.
