I know there are seasons that a cat should shed but my siamese cat no matter how many times a day I brush him he seems to always have more hair to lose. Is there something in his diet he could be lacking? I have him and Mawmaw my black and white cat on Purina Naturals with Vitamins and minerals. They also get a bowl of the dry fancy feast I rotate the bag flavors to give them variance in their tastes. Then at night I give them one small can of fancy feast melodys. So I am trying to give them a good balanced diet. But he keeps shedding I am considering shaving him LOL I know people that shave their dogs but have not seen anyone with cats except for surgery. hope all you cat lovers have a solution for me Thanks!

I don't think there is anything you can do to keep them from shedding. I know of a couple of people that have their cats shaved in the summer. They still have fur, just not as much of it and it is much cooler for them.

Unless you keep your cats outside, most cats will shed year around. Oh, they probably shed MORE in the spring/summer/fall than the winter, but with central heating, and air conditioning, most cats fur really don't recognize the seasons anymore.

I don't know... maybe you're brushing him too much?

I don't know he gets brushed at least once a day. My other cat hardly comes to me she is just the cat of the house. But Tink when I pet him you can just see him shed in your hand. Maybe I will get Nick to get the clippers out

I have a friend who gets her cats shaved, yes they do offer this! LOL I think it's pretty funny looking though, but she likes it, she leaves a lion-style mane on her cat and leaves it long by the feet like boots! Do you brush your cat? You can use a regular hairbrush but they make some special ones with fine metal pins that help pull out the hair, there is also a product called the Furminator that is supposed to be great, but a little pricey.
