I am a stay at home Mom of two children and two dogs. My husband is in the Navy. I have been told by many ppl my house is really clean. I look at it and think it could be cleaner. I have been to a couple ppls houses and I couldnt live that way, but to each his own. I am OCD on cleaning. My Dad and step-mom are horders and my Mom is one too so I have never felt comfortable in a clean or cluttered environment. I always feel my house could look better. What do you think about your home and other homes? Are you a clean freak like me? Or do you, because I feel I waste time cleaning constantly and wear myself out, not bothered if the house dosent look perfect?

My wife is always cleaning the house every day. My wife knows, if I do not like the house that looks dirty and messy. So, my wife always made sure the house is always clean and tidy.

I rarely helped my wife. I am often disappointed, when coming home from work, my home state of untidy. When I got home from work, I want to go home a neat and clean. Feeling tired after work, often makes me emotional when I saw the house in a disheveled state.

Thats very nice of her. Im sure you helped some? My husband likes a clean house, but dosent get upset if its not perfect from time to time. I like to keep it clean though as its part of my job and I do it for my family. I want them to be comfortable and happy and know ppl can come over and they wont be embarressed. Plus I think my husband enjoys coming home from work and not feeling like he needs to clean.

I get to clean our bedroom well , only on Sundays, because we have work on weekdays. BUt i would only clean it very well, (scrubbing the walls & cleaning the windows )once a month only, because we only open some windows at night when we come from work. So basically, not so much dust . I prefer that way, because i would also like to spend our Sunday in resting and entertainment. I don't like to wear out myself cleaning. It's enough that it is clean and orderly.

Nice to know that you also give yourself a break from those chores. It's really difficult to be a housewife. The chores are unending. It is up to you to end them whenever you think they are already wearing you out.

Sundays I prefer to be lazy. I do some laundry if I have to, depending on what needs to be done, but I try to give myself one day off. I figure my husband gets two days off when his scheduale permits so I should at least get one. There is always something to do.

I'd like my house to be cleaner, but I can't seem to get to that level. It's not that we're hoarders, it's that we both work and we don't have childcare - we just work different hours from each other. I don't think it's a waste of time to keep your home nice, although I hope that you are still willing to do the occasional messy activity with your kids.

Right now with our son, everything is messy. Especially mealtimes and crafts, because he just doesn't have the motor skills yet. Outside is good, because fresh air and light is nicer anyway. And it's less work. We don't have a yard, though, so there isn't really a place. We're thinking about buying a house when he gets older so that he can play outside.

Working does put a strain on your time. You want to spend it with your family. Just keep doing what your doing. We have messy activites, sometimes. I prefer them outside. Unless its building with legos or something that wont ruin anything. I enjoy building with my son. My daughter loves coloring and they enjoy the crayola coloring pens that you can use on windows. A pain to clean sometimes, but its fun to see what they come up with.

For me keep up the good work and everything would be good and cleanliness is next to Godliness.

I just prefer clean and smelling nice. People come over and I usually dont have anything to apologize for, of course depends on the day and if your just stopping by and the house isnt perfect, well should have called. I try though because Im crazy. I think I clean as if company were coming over everyday.

I think i should learn from you. I really wanted my house to be squeaky clean but each time i do clean it up, there's always some mess lying around or a stain that couldn't be removed and dust that piles up after a few minutes. Dust is the thing i hate the most. I guess my country is just too dusty that's why i get it all the time. Even if i have cleaned my room and it looks clean but after a few seconds i can see that dust building up again my window pane.

We get a lot of dust here too, although in WA there seemed to be alot as well. I can dust once a week though, unless it gets bad for some reason. Dust is so annoying. I also dislike stains on carpets. With two kids and two dogs, its a never ending battle. Sometimes I fel my world revolves around cleaning. Just keep it up. No matter how much I clean I dont think my house could be squeaky clean, even though I would like it to be.

Oh no, friend. I am not like you. I do not take care of cleanliness. Perhaps, I', disgusting, yeah, lol. But that's me. I can live in dirty condition. And I'm not bothered with dirtiness. So, stay away from me, lol. Thank you dude.

I'm definitely not ocd on cleaning. I would say my house could be cleaner, but it isn't gross or dangerous. I have a huge old house and three kids, plus two labs and a cat lol. It is a lot just to get the basics done to keep the place clean. I no sooner clean a part of the house and move onto the next room and when I come back they just trashed the room I cleaned. It's exhausting. It seems like the laundry is never done and I'm always running the dishwasher. I've been in houses that I can't believe people could live like that too. I would rather play with my kids and enjoy life then spend my whole day following them around cleaning up after them. But you have to do what works for you. :)

I know, I clean a room and they trash it. We have a glass tv stand, always finger prints. I clean it with windex once a week. Its pointless to do more than that. I still think my house could be cleaner, but what I do is exhausting enough. Im ready for bed by 7. I get up at 5:30 to get myself ready and start to get my kids ready. My daughter is in school and son starts next year, but im homeschooling next year so Im not getting up at 5:30. I hear you though, it never ends.

I have people tell me the same thing, although I don't have OCD on cleaning, but I don't feel like my house is clean enough either. Even though I feel that way I don't get up and start cleanning it. I clean when I feel like it or when I am in the mood. I live alone as well my children are grown. I will clean when I am in need of something to do. This morning I had one of those moods so I changed the curtains and my bed linens. Put on a new bedskirt, comforter with pillow shams and throw pillows. Now that is that for today. Maybe tomorrow I will do somethine different in some of the other rooms in the house.

I wish I could clean as much as you do. i work and go to school so i don't have time to make everything look right. My house is not bad and i would not be embarrassed if someone came over but i do wish i had more time to clean.

Hey unless you live in Heaven, your house will not be perfect. Even if you get it perfectly clean, it won't stay that way or you'll be in a science lab. Look for another hobby that will keep you busy. You have two kids and two dogs...they are meant to be messy. Depending on your children, make sure you are strict about cleaning after themselves and responsibility. If they are babies, talk firm to them so they know you mean business. Or you can just play in the mess with your kids so you can be happier. Dont keep cleaning too often, especially if children are rearranging everything. Let them rearrange it and save it until near the end of the day or the right time for it to be clean.

Ill have to remember that. I clean all the time and some one comes behind me and messes it up. I just clean it up, I have a puppy so she still has accidents. My daughter is 8 and son is 5. Their job is to clean their rooms, but battles. They have to learn though. I tink kids should grow up helping out. I have to admit its hard for me to though since I like things a certain way. I let them do it and than I fight myself to not fix it. I wait till the evening and than fix it so they dont know. I want them to feel like they did a good job. Playing in my sons room sometimes can be hard. He loves legos and he gets them everywhere, but its fun digging in the lego bins and building things. Much more fun than cleaning.
