Hi,
I just figured out suddenly this day of my life that I can eat foods that I don't like before but I love today. And then I think that when people become adult, there taste become different too. Before, I don't like to eat tomatoes, I just say (eww) when someone say they drink tomato, and they eat it. I don't know but it taste awful to me before... but now, I can eat it and it taste delicious. I don't understand why I love it right now but hate it before.
Do you have any experienced like this? =)

Oh yes, I hate the color PINK especially on shirts or blouses.
I just love the color black before and one time my birthday came, my mom gave me a gift. --- pink Fila shirt. Okay, I was disappointed because she knew how I hated pink. I tried wearing it and somebody complimented I look good in pink. So, everything just turned upside down. I have lots of pink shirts, blouses and stuffs now.

Wow.. that was s good guess.
It's true, I'm a rocker type of girl before and I think I am still that person now even though I switched into white and pink shirts.
*sigh* missing those times I wore all black outfit with black nail polish and curly hair with black eyeliner. Well, I went to a mini concert that time in Baguio City.
God bless you too. *hugs*

I think you're a rocker type. You love black and dark color shirts.
But you now love light color like pink, because just someone said that it looks good to you. And the truth is, yes pink is good for a female and that somebody is telling you the truth. And you made a good choice for listening to somebody!
You know I love black and dark color shirts before and till now, but I also love light colors of shirts too. =D
Thanks for response and God bless you! =D

Many girls that I see wearing dark and black shirts are saying only one answer why they wear that, and it's because of being rocker and they like rock. I am a bass guitarist and I also like rock when I play music. Can you play any kind of music instrument? =)

Hi!
Yeah, I'm the same, too. Well, not tomatoes anyway. I've been eating tomatoes since I was a kid. But there are indeed a lot of foods that I didn't like when I was a kid but I like eating now. Most of these are vegetables. I hate a lot of vegetables when I was a kid. But when I reached adulthood, I realized their importance and began eating them. I still don't like some vegetables but most of I hate before, I eat now. ^^

And I just found out recently, I used to hate oatmeal, but I start to like it since last week. Even crave for it at middle of the night. It suddenly just taste so tasty!

Wow, you still can eat oatmeal after dinner? Now usually I have oatmeal as breakfast. I bought the instant oatmeal quaker. It's very easy to prepare and very tasty. I had my oatmeal with Anlene milk powder and brown sugar. It tastes very creamy, just the way I like it. I have no idea how come I didn't eat this last time.

I still don't like tomatoes, I never have liked the taste of it. Maybe I'll like it in the future but not now.
Anyway when I was a kid I always hated green vegetables. They tasted so disgusting but to my surprise, I find them delicious these days and eat green veggies a lot

I know what you mean. When I was a little kid I used to hate eating at the restaurant Chili's. Now that I'm older I love this place and it's my favorite restaurant.
I think I may have an answer to your question about why you all of a sudden like tomatoes when you hated them before. Every 5 years or so, we grow new tastebuds and our old ones get replaced. This is why you may start to like foods you never liked or you stop liking foods you used to love

Wow, that's an amazing information you got there! Can you please place a link where can I read the article about that, I want to learn it more. =)
You said restaurant chili's, that means you are supreme in eating spicy foods? That restaurant sound spicy!

I've just heard this from a bunch of different people. When I looked online there's a bunch of different articles that mention they change every 7 years, but nothing really in-depth about it.
Chili's is just a restaurant chain. They have a few spicy things but it's not an all-spicy restaurant. I just didn't like it as a kid because my mom took me there all the time. Now I jump at every opportunity I have for going to this restaurant.

I do not eat Bitter melon before. No matter how it cooked. I dislike it and my face gets bitter even looking at it. but when I grew old I never noticed I now eating it and it is good. Actually I needed it to produce more blood. I hate it before, i love it now and I think this is the one that will going to save me. I also hate sleeping late when I was young. this is for the reason that I am afraid of ghost that my grandmother was telling me. But now I am more alive during at night. During peaceful night I can write my fan fiction and my reviews. I dislike Charice before, but now I am starting to like her music. her music...

So you hate ampalaya before... =D actually we are in the same team, I never eat bitter melon before, I hate the taste! I eat bitter melon today but not kinda my favorite, I'm more prefer in tomato! And you know I love to do many things at night, I don't know but my strength and my awareness is greater than at daylight. Anyway, you said you need to produce more blood then you love to sleep late at night... I think this make a lot of sense... you know that your low-blood but then you sleep late at night... well just to being concern with my mylot friend... =)

Funny how that does happen. When i was a kid i use to love to add sugar and cream to the adults coffee. I loved the way the creamer swirled like clouds in the coffee. Many irratated adults would tell me to hurry up and stir so they could drink it. Ive tasted some when i was a kid but didnt like the taste. In my late 40's i started drinking the flavored coffees. Almost a day never passes without a nice 16oz. mug of one of the many flavors i have. I love it cold too. Sometime i remember my grandma used to dump the cold coffee with a sound like "uuhhhh". She just dont know what shes was missing. Theres been time when i made extra coffee just to have some cold later. I love my own because the bottled has way too much sugar and cream added to it.

Well dear in my case, I have always loved tomatoes. Actually it is here at myLot that I discovered that raw tomatoes are also so good. Now in fact I would choose raw tomatoes always for my veggie salad. Now the ripe tomatoes I always use for cooking on the hand.
Well there are some fruits and vegetables that I also do not like or not really mind eating before but when I learned how nutritious they are I developed special liking for them like watermelon, guyabano or soursop, cucumber, pineapple and papaya. I used to disregard them but now I do eat and would even crave for them. I also do not eat saluyot or Jute leaves. When I learned its nutritional value, I suddenly learned to eat them. Imagine if it is true that Saluyot as written is really the source of health and beauty among Egyptian royalties way back the time of the very famous Cleopatra then this is really worth eating. Wanna try?

Ah yes axlrate, don't worry about the issue because all of us here has the right to express opinions whether it may agree or not agree with one another. I don't take differences in opinion on a personal level. But thanks because you bother to explain. I appreciate it.

Hi,
Before I don't bother to eat papaya but when I learned that its a fiber food and how high its vitamin C content, I love them eating today after lunch and dinner. I didn't know that saluyot is the source of health and beauty of the Egyptians before, thanks for that info, I will say it to my mom!
And, I also remember you're response salonga to thesids about worrying and I think you two have misunderstood each other explanation, but I do explain to thesids about your response, that it is not about religion but about personal relationship to God. I think thesids made a little bit too far on his comment about the issue, but I think he is just confuse and little upset on worrying subject. But I tell you, that man have a good heart too in terms for friendship. =)

I don't know how true it is but they used to say that your taste changes every 7 years. There's quite a few things, mainly veggie-wise, that I eat now that you couldn't get near me when I was younger, unless it was raw. On the flip, there are some foods I loved as a kid but am noncommital about anymore. Its just a natural thing I'm guessing..Enjoy!

I just learned it to other respondent here that every 7 years our taste change in foods. And somehow I believe that information because it make sense, and I know too that everything in this world is changing! So I love this change of my taste, I can now enjoy eating and value my health. Do you feel the same way too? =D

Yes you are absolutely right about the tastebuds changing. I read that somewhere about that.
For me its onions. i used to hate onions when i was young and cannot understnd why my father loves them so much.
Now I love them sauteed or raw. My husband says to be careful because of the bad breath it makes so I dun eat them raw so much. But when they are sauteed they are so sweet and somtimes can be crunchy too...mmmm delicious.

There are lots of things that I hated before that I love now. The first is basil. My father is a farmer and we had a greenhouse full of basil and it smelled absolutely horrible! But, I discovered that my favorite pasta flavor is pesto, and have learned to love basil from that moment on. I also hated cilantro, but I discovered that it's what makes Thai and Vietnamese soups so refreshing and good! I also hated tomatoes before, but now I love them on my sandwhiches and salads, and even on rice and fish! Yum!

Yeah, tomato is good in rice and with smoked fish, love it! I can eat so much rice when we have this in the table. I check the pesto in net and see that it is like a green spaghetti, sorry I didn't know this food all I know is the common red one and the white spaghetti. Is this more delicious than the normal spaghetti? =)

Hi axlrate!
Oh yes! When I was a kid, I dislike milk, cheese and yogurt. I have tried to have some at that time but the taste makes me feel I want to throw them out. I can't understand why other people like to have them. I didn't have them for many years till when I finish my high school. Only then I tried them and found that they were tasty! The tastes are far better than what I have tasted 10 years ago!! Now they are on my favorite food list.(^^)

Hahaha, funny that you don't like cheese and yogurt, but I can understand you in the milk part cause I don't like milk before, I saw your response to other respondent and I can say that you're a cook. So what can you say for the taste of pesto, is that similar from the taste of spaghetti or much better? =D

I agree that as we get's older our taste with food also changed.
I don't like eating raw carrots when i was a kid and even as I grow as adult.
But now,I really like it,I just peel it and leave for few minutes inside the fridge to make it crunchier and then eat it,munching like a chips

When one is younger, the preference when it comes to food is so different when they are adult already. I think, it's because some taste buds such as that for bitter taste has just been fully developed.
When i was younger until i have given birth to our daughter. i don't like to eat vegetables. I would not eat them even if they were sauteed. I would just choose the meat in a sauteed viand.
However, after giving birth, i noticed that i don't like to eat a meal without any vegetable anymore. I now eat lots of vegetable specially, pechay , cabbage and bitter melon. I now eat almost all vegetables.

I remember myself drinking sterilized milk before, it makes me feel sick I don't know why but it makes me feel that way whenever I drink it, but today I don't feel anything, weird! And yes, I can also watched television program that tells about liking someone that is an enemy before, I did watched lots of them. =)

I have had that experience. I couldn't stand cooked cabbage til up til a few months ago. I don't absolutely like it but willing to try to eat it. An old neighbor made it 1 night and it was actually good the way he made it. I think maybe our taste buds may change as we get older or maybe were more apt to try things more so when were kids. I think as a kid we just think something is yuk so we refuse to try it.
@axlrate7 (1398)

Yeah, I think that make sense. Maybe it's because, like you said there's only one thing on our mind on that time and that is to yuck those nutritious foods and to love the sweet foods! Therefore when we become more matured, we accept many possibilities in our minds and that helps us to accept also even those things we don't like before. =)

I don't remember to have such an experience, but each person has different sensations. For this reason what you like another may seem awful. You've probably forgotten why you did not like tomatoes and your taste has changed. In any case is a good change.:)
