Have you ever been told " You don't know what you are missing"? I always think well it's ok, If I really wanted it , I would have gone for it.I have always gone by how I would feel doing this or going for that. Many see it as being stupid or too timid or lacking self esteem. Granted I was shyer and had less self worth back in the day but.. I still will not do things I feel uncomfortable about. At school I would just average in an F. Now I just say no thanks and walk away. So I ask you, have you ever said no to what others saw as a great opportunity?

I've been pushed to start out a small business. I come from a very enterpreneur-kind of family, and I've always been told to open up a business. 'To reap the benefits', and so 'I would know what I've been missing!'. Well, I am taking the plunge. In the coming weeks, I will be putting up a business, so nobody could tell me to my face that I don't know what I've been missing. And then I could decide for myself if I am missing a great opportunity.

I have always banged my own drum. I did however try to be fair when I was married but that didn't work very well. I have always been told you don't know what you're missing, I didn't care then and I don't care now. If I am not interested then it's not for me. I do not like having to conform to what others want me to do. I also say no and walk away, but if they keep asking, I get nasty.

I have an ally! At first I say no, they ask again and my no becomes Never. And if they ask again my Never turns into I will never talk to you ever again!

I was a little shy when I was growing up also but I really never thought that I missed out on something that other people did. I did however think things through alot before I did them when other people just went ahead and did them without thinking. I must admit I did miss out on somethings but it did not bother me. I am the kind of person that likes to be on the safe side of things rather then to take a risk.

Yes....because all of us have different tastes...but usually I love trying something new...if I don't like it after I try it then the next time I'll pass..but I love trying new things!

I have learned if something doesn't feel right I will not do it! When I was younger I did alot of things I regret now because I felt obligated to do them! Yes I also have missed out on opportunities but when I don't feel comfortable I am not doing it! I know how you feel!

Yes I have been told. And yes, looking back I had missed out on some wonderful experiences that I now regret. Nevertheless, if I don't want to do a thing then no one can push me anymore. I used to do work for other because I was afraid and wanted to please others. But thing have changed and people around me don't like it :/. I have promised myself to please myself first before others and I will stick to it.

Welcome My Friend!I was born that way. the only thing I Had to do was a few school projects. outside of school I got the ok to say no when I ruined a family outing. Like you I thought I Had to say yes so I went and was not a happy camper and let it show. From then on , No Means No and I have been happier ever since. No stomach pangs . I used to get sick to my stomach when I Had to do something I didn't want to do. So welcome!

"you don't know what youre missing" is the battle cry of the pressuring bully. When people tell je this, I tell them to go suck on something sharp.
