Sania Mirza enters doubles semi-final!

Immersed in the gents' quarter final matches we missed the womens' doubles quarter final. Only short glimpses were shown. Sania and her russian partner made it to semi-final even after losing the first set. That was creditable for Sania who has not been doing so well in singles. I hope she makes it to the final at least if not take the championship.

Sania and her partner sadly lost in the semis. But I think having reached this far was itself a wonderful achievement for Sania. Now that her singles career is nearly finished, she is actually doing pretty well in the doubles circuit. She is still in the mixed doubles tournament partnering Bopanna.

Well played Sania Mirza and her russian partner. They kepy showing glimpses of teh match but the main focus was on the mens singles draw. Despite being a set down Sania and her partner overcame all odds and wrapped up the match to book themselves a place in the semi finals. They will have to continue the hard work and play extremely well if they have to reach the finals and also the championship. Lets hope for the best and wish the two good luck..
