I have Avira installed on my pc because someone told me that it is a lot better than NOD32, which was my previous antivirus. another friend of mine told me that NOD32 is better than Avira. I'm confused if who among them is right. lol
my questions is, which of these 2 antivirus apps can detect and eliminate more virus? can tell me your experiences about these two antivirus?

I've used NOD before. I think it works similarly with the other anti-virus software around like Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky, etc. As long as you have at least one anti-virus in your PC, you're secured. My advise on which software to use, whichever one's free, take it! If both are free, toss a coin!

Personally, I am quite satisfied with ESET NOD32 Antivirus. I have been using this antivirus for more than one year already. It really detects drive-by malwares. Drive-by malwares are malicious software that downloads and installs without your consent.
Right now, I have been using the ESET Smart Security 4.2 and I am quite impressed with it.
Avira is also a very good antivirus. If you are going to search its efficacy in detecting malware, it is above standard. I had used the Avira Antivir Personal Edition which is a free version before for more than two years.
Don't worry jenjabla, Avira is a great antivirus and you should not worry about its effectiveness. Just one downside from Avira especially their free version right now, in order for you to have a webguard, you should first install the toolbar which is really not important on my part. That is the sad thing about that.
By the way, welcome to mylot jenjabla. I hope you would be able to enjoy your stay here.
Happy mylotting and GOD bless!
