The other night I had a dream that my boyfriend and I bought a house. It was a really nice house with everything in order. For some reason it was a bungalow like his parents have but it was big enough to fit all our crap into which is the main thing. The other night we also had a nice discussion about our future plans and I mentioned this dream. My boyfriend wishes for us to buy a large Tudor/Victorian house near where I currently live. The plan would be for me to pay a 10% deposit for a new house, which I have in savings and my boyfriend would sell his house, which may give us 30% towards as mortgage on an expensive property. We would both need to keep our jobs to accomodate this and keeping my flat and renting it out would give us an nice additional income towards the bills. Once my sister returns from South Africa where she is volunteering over the summer, she wishes to stay in my flat while she finishes her law degree, away from the distraction of my parents pressures and concerns on the way she chooses to get her work done. I would like to sepend a little amount of time staying at the flat myself before this happens. As it happens I am currently in hospital, but I hope to return to my flat for some time in between. When my sister returns the plan is for me to stay at my boyfriends house and see how this goes. If my sister stays at my flat she would be doing me a favour as if this remains my address I can keep all my appoitments at the same places, park my car there (as my sister does not drive) and I wonuld have enough money to contribute to my partners bills with hopefully have a little more besides. My dad suggests that £300 per month is reasonable. If I were to rent it privately I could get much more for it, but as I said above, my sister would be doing me a favour and we wouldn't have to worry about any legally binding contract for any period of time. My sister did say that she would like to give this a go for a year while she completes her degree. I just want to be sure that she can afford this, which may require her to take out a second student loan, but I don't wish her to get into further debt due to this.
