Thailand!

I just recently travelled to Thailand in December and I wanted to tell other mylot users what a truly fantastic place it is! I had the greatest time going to all the beaches, especially Koh Phi Phi, Koh Tao, Koh Phanang (for the legendary full moon party!) and Koh Samui. I also enjoyed the North of Thailand, where I went to Chiang Mai and Bangkok and did some serious shopping! Everything in Thailand is so cheap, and the people are really friendly - I loved my trip and wish I could go back again this year! What have any of you thought about Thailand if you have been there? Or if you haven't been there, would you like to go?

Yes - the tsunami in Thailand in 2006 really was a scary moment and I'm sure for a while it chased a lot of tourists away from Thailand. but the truth is that that kind of natural disaster can happen anywhere in the world - there is no bigger chance than it happening again in Thailand then anywhere else! It was a terrible thing to have happened but at least now we are better prepared for tsunamis if they happened again!

Wow! Nice to hear that! I have also been to Thailand in 2007. That was my fist out of the country trip. I enjoyed it very much also. We went to Bangkok and Pattaya City. I loved the grandiose of the temples! I had also experienced Parasailing in Pattaya, it was my first time. I enjoyed watching the Elephant and Crocodile shows in Sriracha Tiger Zoo. Plus I loved watching a Cabaret show with lady boys performing on stage. If I will have the chance to go to Thailand again, I would love to do so! I wish I can go to as far as Phuket and see its beaches! =)

Pattaya also sounds great - I didn't get a chance to go there on my trip. Hopefully I can get a chance to go back and see all the sights I didn't see! I also went to a cabaret show with lady boys - it was very entertaining!

I am glad that you really enjoyed going to Thailand. I love visiting tropical destinations, interesting cities and little palm fringed islands. I used to live near Canterbury and a Thai lady had a shop there. I would love to go to a market in Bangkok to get a miniature house. I would love to do some island hopping and snorkeling in Thailand. It would combine well with the Philippines I imagine. I haven't yet been to Thailand but it is on travel wish list for the future. I wouldn't be able to go to the full moon party. I travel with my 4 year old disabled son and my 2 year old daughter.

Yes - the markets in bangkok are really amazing and there are those miniature houses that you are speaking about everywhere in Thailand - apparently they are for giving wishes to the angels and they are so beautiful! Yes the full moon party is definitely not a place for children but there are plenty of other amazing things to do in thailand, so if you can go you should really try!!

I was also worried about the riots but when we got to Thailand everything was very peaceful - it was actually the King's birthday so there were celebrations and happiness throughout the country!

I had longed planned to visit Thailand and my friend and I finally made it this May. What a place and the atmosphere out ther is amazing. Did not do much of activities this time when I went but have already planned that come this January 2012 I will be there again. First I went to Bangkok and was there for only a day. Have to say that it is a very nice place and the shopping out there is very very cheap. I was quite eager to tr out thai street food but my friend was against the idea and I was dissappointed. But will make up for that next time. Pattaya is where I spent 4 days and it was fun. The night life out there is really cool. You have party going on till 7 in the morning. It also has some nice beaches. But overall Amazing Thailand lived up to my expectatin and I will surely plan naother trip in January 2012..

You're so lucky that you get to go back again in January! Thats the time I went and I feel like it's the best time to go there. I also loved the cheap shopping and the nightlife, and of course the best thing about travelling is always the amazing people that you get to meet!!

I bet it is totally beautiful. I heRd that Thailand is famous for medical tourism. Plastic surgery there is so cheap there that mlions of people bask in luxury while they have a cosmetic surgery vacations.

It is really beautiful! I didn't actually see much of the plastic surgery side but what I did see which I thought was really strange were hundreds and hundreds of dentist places where you can get your teeth whitened and other cosmetic dentistry things - so obviously a lot of tourists go there for that as well!

Thailand is a place I want to go. Since there are beautiful natural beaches there. The culture is very interesting. And there are many fresh fruits in that country. It will be a great journey. Besides, it is not so far from the place I live. So one day I will go there for a travel for sure. I love China

are you from China? China also seems like an amazing place with such an interesting culture - I would love to go there one day as well. It must be next on my list of places to go - now just to save up enough money to come!

My first time in Thailand was in Bangkok. It was also my first time to go out of the country. And the best part was, it was New Year... It seems everybody is in a festive mood...I had a great time back then... I also experienced a stampede... But I just thought that it was all part of the merry making... hehehe... The second time I went there was 2 years ago. I went to Phuket. We also went to Phi phi island, one of the best beaches I've been too... Both of the time I have been there, I really loved one thing the most...Their food...hahaha...I can't stop eating and trying different Thai dishes... Also partying there at night is not that expensive. It is really fun going to that place... I will be coming back there this August and next year, we will visit Chiang Mai.

I've never been to Thailand but it is so close to my motherland so it must be really wonderful there. Anyway, that beach you are referring are said to be fantastic! One of my friends went there and babbling about the wonders of it. I remembered their pictures with the beautiful backgrounds! It was like I am looking into a postcards. Very perfect!
