The best thing you can do is download a free software by going to dupeprofree.com. I have been using this software for an year now. Its free from virus and is very useful for content writers coz it checks the duplicate content of an article.

If you are using Microsoft Word or Open Office to write or edit your article, then both of those packages provide a word count function. It is usually to be found either on the status bar at the bottom or from the File, Properties menu. If in doubt, just look in the Help menu for 'word count'. If you are not using a full-blown word processor, then there are many online word counters. Just copy and paste all of your article here: http://www.wordcounttool.com/ for example and it will tell you how many words there are.

Hi yasmoo! Microsoft word can help you with this. Just copy-paste your article and the number of words written is found at the bottom of the page. Good luck!

If I were you, I would write my article in Microsoft first, or if you don't have Microsoft, get Open Office for free and write the article there. As you are writing, you can check to see how many words the article is so that you know when you have reached your limit.
