How do you clean your home?

For me I don't like to take forever cleaning so sometimes I set a timer. I tend to get distract and start doing more than is necessary at the time like reorganizing closests, but if i have the timer on that helps. I like to listen to music, or the Bible on audio when I'm cleaning. I like the house to be all clean and organized but not spend forever doing it. For me the kitchen seems to take the longest. There always seems to be at least one dish in the sink. i clean either really early in the morning or late in the evening. I want the house to be clean with my husband gets up. What's your cleaning routine like?

--Well as for me I do all my major cleaning on a Thursday. But do all my clothes washing on a Wednesday. The reason behind this is because I absolutely don't want to do any cleaning on the weekend && my weekend starts on FRIDAY! :) I'm a stay-at-home mom, so I have my family days/nights on Friday; Saturday is my lounge days and of course Sunday is all church for me...So I believe if you just keep it TIDY during the week, when it comes to doing the major cleaning keep it on a one day of the week basis. Heck if it comes to re-organizing, I just find another day just to re-organize. But yeah there's no precious time being wasted on cleaning here. Have a beautiful day! :D

That is a really good schedule. I agree that cleaning the way you do so that you have your weekends free is a great idea. Perhaps I will try implimenting something like that. I usually end up cleaning saturday mornings because my inlaws come over saturday in the early afternoon. That everything will be organized as well. If I were to do this friday night it would be disorganized by saturday afternoon as everyone gets around saturday morning. I love your schedule though it is great. Thanks for sharing.

I have decided to clean the house every now and then since my baby is gonna be out soon. I also wanted my house to be clean and organized as what most mother and wife does. I have not created a routine yet and hopefully I can have one right after my baby is born. One of my goals is to keep the house clean for the safety of my family.

Yes keeping the home clean is very important for safety reasons. One thing that was really nice that my husband did is he cleaned the house spotless after our daughter was born, he even cooked all week long while he was off.It was really nice. I hope that you have been able to come up with a good schedule and that you and your baby are doing well.

I do most jobs simply when I see that they need doing, if I'm being honest. When I get up in the morning I will put a load of washing in the machine, and then hoover every room in the house while I'm waiting for the washing to be done. Then I'll have breakfast and wash my dishes, and by that time the washing will be done and I can hang it out to dry. Then I iron the clothes that I washed the day before and go and hang them in everyone's wardrobe, then change the bedding in one of the bedrooms (we have five, so do one each week day) and wash that and then I have my lunch while I'm waiting for that to be done, wash and dry lunch dishes and clean the kitchen, hang washing out to dry.. Then it's shopping time and I go to the shops to get milk and bread for the next day, plus any other bits or pieces that need to be bought. Then home again (it takes me about an hour to get all of the shopping done) and bring the washing in which is usually dry by that point and fold everything up and put it in the cupboard or on the chair ready for me to iron the next day. Then start on cooking tea! Have tea, wash and dry dishes, then finally at about 7pm I can relax! Nobody can say that being a housewife isn't hard work.

Yes being a housewife does require a lot of time and effort. It seems though that you have everything pretty much organized for what needs to be done. That is a great schedule. I couldn't imagine having five rooms that is diffinitely a lot of work. I'm happy that you are very organized I'm sure that your family appreciates all the effort that you put forth to keep your household functioning well.

I used to clean the house regurarly. Twice in a week, on saturday and sunday. Each task is shared among all family members. We also cleaned the house while listening to music. so that the atmosphere is fun and not boring, so the work can be more perfect..

That is a good idea. Cleaning as a family makes things a whole lot easier. That way it doesn't rest on only one person and it gets done a lot faster as well. Thanks so much for sharing.

I hear you as I too, don't like cleaning to take up a lot of time. Sometimes when I feel overwhelmed, I just do one task at a time rather than everything. For example, if there is a lot of hair on the kitchen and bathroom floors, sweep it up! If there is laundry that needs extra attention, do just that. Sometimes my family helps and who am I to stop them?? If I was sifting through my closet, sometimes I'd get my daughters opinion. Get help and be creative about it--then it won't seem to be so much for one person.

I think having family help is a gret thing. Others need to realize that the house just doesn't get cleaned on it's own. It takes time and effort. I also feel that it's good for children to have chores as they learn responsibility and it helps the parents out as well.

Cleaning my room is a huge job and sometimes its very hard to handle.sometimes the rooms are so messy so don't even know from where to start, but still have to do it because there is no one else who is going to do it for you

I agree cleaning does take time. But like you mentioned it is something that has to be done. I don't particular like cleaning but i like my house to be clean and organized so i have to do it.

I have a two bedroom house ,hall and kitchen. Some times cleaning can be easy, basically i clean every week end but sweep out the house every day. When am cleaning i always dust the furniture, and pack back the stuff on it in a different way so that it can look different. Some times i move the bed and other furniture around the house too,I don't like them in the same place all the times. I mop and wipe, and change the curtain too and i always listen to music when am working in the house.

It can be enjoyable listening to music while we clean. I think it gives us a better viewpoint on the things that we have to do but don't necessarily care too. I more so like to clean late in the evenings. I work more in the evenings and so when it's time for a break I start cleaning things. It helps me to get a little workout as well, because I have to sit a lot at my computer.

I cannot clean it in one day because, like you, I get distracted and do more than necessary. So it's one room at a time for me -- and it is never ending because hubby or somebody else (including me) can make a mess in rooms that I already finished cleaning. I get stressed just thinking about this. Have a nice day!

It is stressful when we or other family members start to make a mess after we've just cleaned up. That's why I at times get frustrated with cleaning. There are some people who's houses are always straightened up no matter what time you come over. My house I haven't reached that point yet. I always tell everyone that we do live in our house. And to call ahead time. And that way i will be ready for company. But when people just stop by, it will not be that organized.:)

Several years ago when I was spring cleaning, I wrote down every single thing that I did in every room. I analyzed the list and decided whether those tasks needed to be done monthly, every 3 months, evey 6 months or yearly. I broke those tasks down by month so I do my spring cleaning throughout the entire year. In addition to that, I have a list of things that I do daily so that by the end of the week the entire house has been cleaned. Like you, I use a timer. It keeps me on track and keeps me efficient. I want to make sure that I don't spend all of my time cleaning. My husband sleeps late so I clean first thing in the morning.

That is a great way to get things done. It is very organized and I'm sure it helps you out a great deal. Doing spring cleaning throughout the year would help take the load off of doing so many things at one time. I usually clean late in the evenings now between working and while my family is sleeping. It works pretty well. That way I get many things done instead of only getting one thing done here and there.

Just like you, I also loved the cleanliness. It feels very refreshing when waking from sleep when the eyes we see the clean room. But, little different from you, I do not like cleaning the house without any help from maids

It would be nice to have help cleaning the house. It is nice that you have maids that help with the household cleaning. I'm sure that you thank them for all of their help as well :). I respect those who clean for others as I know what it is like to clean for work. I don't clean homes but I clean offices and it's always nice when others say thanks for the work that we have done. Thanks for sharing.

I agree when our home is clean and organized we feel the same way. I feel so much better when my home is this way. When it's disorganized I feel agitated. So it is good for me when my house is neat and in order.

Wow, you seem to be a real clean person. How I wish I can do that. I admit that I am poor at organizing my things and cleaning the house is not one of my favorite chores. In fact, I am a lazybone. I hate doing household chores. I just wish we could hire someone to take charge of housecleaning because I am so poor at it.

I do agree that from the standpoint of getting things done and having things always straightened up it would be nice to be able to hire someone. But I personally don't like people cleaning up after me that's one of my petpev's I guess. But perhaps one day I won't care and will hopefully be able to have someone else do the cleaning.:) Perhaps in twenty or thirty years, lol.

That is nice that your wife cleans the home and that you don't have to worry about it. Make sure you thank her for all her hard work in keeping your home clean. It's nice when wives are able to keep up with these things and there husband don't have to help. We can make it seem easy, but it's not :).

hello, My mom used to clean the home every morning it is her daily routine. Our home is not that big but it is still tiring because she is alone sometimes when I am not at home, because I usually help her doing some chores. So, sometimes before I go to school I clean my room first so that it will reduce her chores. lol

That is nie that you clean your room, I'm sure that helps her a lot. I know when I was young and living at home I didn't like cleaning my room. And most of the time it was a mess:). But Sometimes I cleaned it,lol. Now I really see the value of keeping things straightened up. Then I would rather be out with my friends, and it always seemed like it would get messy right after I cleaned. Neverending process cleaning is.
