For me, in a way it possible and not possible too, although i never tried it out, what if just simply taking a challenge to avoid both computer and tv in your life, i ask of you for one day, can you do it. People nowadays are so into computer and tv that they sit and home and watch tv or do stuffs in their pc, no outdoor work involved, ofcorse some peoples life depends on it for their daily income, its just for a change to live life outdoor without this two condition no tv and no pc? can you really do it or cant you and why?

Well I don't really have either so the answer is yes.lol we don't have cable tv, but we do rent movies occasionally. And we have children's movies for my son to watch. And I don't have a computer. I use my phone for myylot and email and such but I can't play games or spend hours at a time on it. But we mostly spend our time outside playing with the kids. And I garden and do agility with my dog. So no, it wouldn't be a problem for me.

I'm sure I'd be able to do it, but I really don't want to test it out. The computer is a major part of my everyday life and without it I would have nothing to do except maybe read a book.
So I could give it up, I'd always be able to find other things to do. I just choose to keep it because I like being able to earn money every day

I will be living without my tv and my computer for the next 4 days as we will be camping with our horses at a local state park and we won't have either with us. I do not allow my daughter to take any electronics other than her radio for the trip as it is a great time to reconnect with others.

It's amazing how we get so accustomed to things. I lived without either for a very long time. I probably went 3 years without any TV or radio at all... being of an apostolic church for a long time, they controlled my life until I changed where I went to church. I decided I didn't like the bondage of being told what I couldn't do so now I have what I want.

TV and computer creates addiction. I use to start my computer every day and my TV every morning at coffee and in the evening. But when I was in the hospital where there was no TV for three day I could live without it. Also no computer or laptop. Nobody realizes how good is without them at least several days. But why not use them when they are at hand. Maybe on a desert island it would be possible to live without the temptation...

Yea, In a desert you are free from every thing except for the sands, maybe thrown in a beautiful forest to explore would be better than desert. In this case you are left with no choice to live without this . Is there any better idea than spending time with tv and computer. both are my routine daily work. I like thought of temptation though, i mark u positive

I don't watch television or use my computer when I am on holiday, so I know that I can live without it for many days at a time. However, when I am not on holiday, I choose to use my computer every day because I use it to earn a living. I work online, so I can't live without my computer really. I am hoping to get to the stage where I will be able to only use the computer maybe five days per week rather than the seven that I have to work at the moment. I am saving up for a deposit on a house at the moment so as soon as I have bought the house I won't have to work quite as hard.

I would say that I can easily go without television and the computer for a day and I could go even longer without them. However at the same time television does provide me with entertainment but there aren't very many shows that I actually like to watch on T.V. so not watching it doesn't bother me that much. I play xbox 360 much more then I watch television and it would be more of a stretch for me to not play video games then to not watch television.
The only time that I have a hard time staying away from television is when there are NCAA basketball games on/March Madness or NBA games/NBA playoffs are going on. Other then that television doesn't interest me other then a little comedy central or some adult swim.
I can live without computers for days but if I have the free time and don't have anything else to do online earning on the computer slowly is helping me to try and reach my goals. Online earning is slow but in today's economy I would say that we should all take advantage of the extra income internet can provide unless we have solid enough jobs to the point where we don't need it.
The best way to live without electronics for me is to just go outside and go hiking or exploring. Music festivals for me in Michigan really help me to get away from the control that media sometimes takes over us. In today's day and age I hope that we can help to share the beauty and joy of experiencing mother earth and all of her beautiful scenery so that our children aren't permanently glued to screens at all points in there lives.

No, it is one type of addiction. Moreover if you work online, you must have to stay in touch with your PC regularly. In case of TV, of there is any interesting programs are available, then it can be seen. But the TV is not necessary to use daily. Because in your PC you can access your TV and see everything besides your daily jobs.

Yes I am sure I could do it.I do not rely on cell phones and very seldom text if at all.I know people that text hundreds of times daily and talk on their cell phones for hours. This is a real shame how this current generation is acting. They have become reliant and addicted to modern technology and do not care to read books or to exercise daily and walk.I do use technology a lot myself but i try to moderate , going for outdoor trips , walks , and reading at least a book a month.I find that if you go without cell phones and computers even for a day or two you find out how reliant you have become and find that other activity's are just as enjoyable.

I would be very glad if I had the chance to go somewhere in an isolated place in the mountains and spend a few days there without any TV or Internet, and I guess I could live without them.Anyway,I don't have this possibility now,so when I'm at home I simply can't imagine life without TV or Internet,I would certainly feel very unhappy and bored without them because there would be no soccer matches and interesting matches to watch on TV and I would also miss the Internet even more than the TV.

I like the idea of that to spent alone in some place isolated and train my myself to be calm and relax from a this busy world for some days. Yea its a big sacrifice though away from everything, atleast you could get peace of mind that is certaing, as compared to this this is small sacrifice.

we all are obsessed or use these computers and television on daily basis there is no man who do not watch tv nowadays except for early man. but the thing is that dont get it over your head,i.e if you find a way to earn money online with each time you sit here, you would surely spent your whole day on it and nothing you can do to overcome that sort of situation.

Hi there Fireheart,
Honesty speaking, I dont think I can live for one day without my computer. As this is my main source of relaxation.
However, there are times I really dont use my computer since there are times that I am too busy with my business.

I have had to live without my computer for more than one day (a week or more). I was very upset. I do a lot of things on my computer because I don't have a job. I have a huge library here, but I don't read like I should. When my computer goes down, I go to my computer books and then I work on making my computer work. The Internet is a different story because I can't do anything about provider problems or when my Internet is shut off because I don't have the money to pay.

As for television, I don't have the money for cable. So I watch mostly DVD's on my television set. That gets boring watching the same thing all of the time.

I did this for several days about six weeks ago when I was visiting friends. The last evening we got on the computer because their son is my web master, LOL, and I had to show him how to do something. This family does not watch any television (they have only one television in their house and they watch only DVDs on it, and only occasionally). It was a nice break, but the email pileup was ridiculous when I returned home!

Then again if you checked your emails daily, this wouldn't happen, hard to imagine emails getting from friends or families that you dont want to miss for me, i would surely check them and empty whats left, so there fore i spent at least few hour of my time in this. anyway thanks for posting

Yes, i can live without a tv or computer for one day. i seldomly watch television these days. There are times that when i'm too tired from work, i couldn't even touch my laptap. when your too busy with other stuffs that do not require you to use tv or pc, you can definitely live without those things. But if it includes my cellphone, it will be hard for me even for an hour without it. Can be done still although i will feel so incomplete.

Dear friend,
Try to have a balanced life. I normally select a TV series and watch it during exams that really helps me in reducing the stress.

I can live without my TV but it will be hard for me to live without my laptop. actually I need my laptop because it is the best way of socializing for me. If there are any other ways like Trips and friends function then i can consider about "without my laptop" as well.

Yea the thing that connects us all the world wide web, actually its a good technology to get information's and to stay in touch with people around the globe, people surely cant resist it. T v is less of a concern than compared to the net that fulfills everyone's desire.

so then if we can fulfill our desires in other ways we have no need of TV or computers?
