Hi friends,
Recently I realized that my stress and stress relief are actually the same thing, or rather, the same person, that is my 2 month old son! When he cries incessantly and for no reason, sometimes I felt very stressed but when I see his smiles and laughs, suddenly I felt most wonderful again.
Do you feel a lot of stress in your life? What do you do to relax yourself?

An, the joys of motherhood! I remember when mine were infants and yes, where they are such joy to our lives, they do cause us so much stress as well. Now my two youngest are teenagers and I have to tell you, teenage stress...sometimes I feel like I am going to lose it! When I have those stressful days I do tend to MyLot more. I think when you see all the other people with stress like yours it makes you feel better for some reason. At least you realize you are not alone. When I get really stressed I go on my laptop and look at scenery photos. For example, I will look at pictures of Alaska, or mountains, or anything peaceful and that seems to calm me down and relieve all the stress. I also will jump in a hot shower and that works wonders.

I think every stage of a child growing up can have its stressful moments. Thank goodness all the joy definitely out weighs all the stress. I have loved every moment of my childrens' lives. I have a daughter 13, and two sons, 15 and 22. I can say without doubt that all the stress is so worth it. I know when the children our infants I think the most stress is what us mother's have with getting little sleep when they are little, or when the cry and then can't just tell us what is wrong. It can be stressful, but you are definitely not alone...we have all gone through it and it does get better...I promise. Of course, today I was out with my 15 year old driving, but that is an entire type of stress I won't go into...LOL

I don't ever think I'm the motherly type until I gave birth, then I realize why a baby is called "a bundle of joy". He really lights up my life and I feel so devoted to him. Thanks for your sharing. I'm looking forward to his toddler days, young kid days, also teenage days.
Well, that's a nice way of destressing, I have loads of scenery photos in my computer too, I used them as my desktop picture.

I see from your other post that you recently just gave birth. I am a parent myself and I understand what you mean by getting stressed with our children.
I have an 11 year old, so I definitely know how the stress gets bigger as they grow themselves.
Hopefully, like in my case, I just pray that there will be more 'stress-relief' days than 'stress' days.

Lately there is a lot of Stress in my life. With all the Health problems I have been having lately, and the worries about my Boss and things I am trying to get done with the filth at my work place, etc. There is also wondering about is everyone out there going to want to work with me due to I was in the Hospital last week or are people going to still want their $$, to where I have something get shut off as well?
I personally think the Best things for me is my husband and the other is my Faith and belief in Jesus and knowing others care and are praying for me and my situation as well.

We are facing problems all the time, and some can cause a lot of stress. It's good that you have faith and that you have supporters surrounding you. Here's wishing you have good health.

Hi there, bluemoonpavillion. :)
Yes, I certainly feel a lot of stress in my life. I destress by reading a book and playing video games. When it's too much, I go off to the beach and watch the beautiful waters of the island I now call my home.

Hi nenyalorien,
Stress is inevitable in our life. I like going to the beach too, just watching the waves calms me down and make my mind clearer.
You might not have a kid yet, but remember this, having a kid is a wonderful thing!

Yes stress is a big part of my life and there are days I do handle it well, while some days not so much. I do come here to interact with friends so that it keeps my mind off of thinking so much. I also have a very emotional supporting boyfriend for which helps calm me down and get my mind off things as he does have a very positive outlook in life.
I do tend to re-think my blessings in life which then allow me to remember that certain things, though ongoing for too long will someday pass.

You have a very positive way of thinking too. I guess we have to keep reminding ourselves that yes, life may be hard, but it has its enjoyable moments too and by concentrating on the good parts, it helps us get over the bad parts faster.

I hope you won't feel stressed when your son cries incessantly. It is natural for infants to cry, unless they are ill and when crying is due to their not feeling well. Just take it easy if he cries and just try to pacify him. I am sure you will feel much better if his crying does not make you feel stressed.

Things are starting to get better so my stress level has decreased significantly. Now I know how to handle him when he cries. Actually his needs are still quite simple at this stage, either he's hungry or dirty or bored or tired. Just try to satisfy these needs and he will be fine.
I see that you are a new member, hope you enjoy mylotting. See you around!
