So I have a black lab that is almost 2 yrs old, she does really good and doesnt chew on anything and then all of a sudden she just gets the urge to want to chew, well i'm guessing anyone and starts to chew on everything, but it is always shortly after i decide to trust her that shes done chewing on things. So how long should it take for her to get out of this chewing stage. I was told by a family member that after shes 2 she should stop.

Hi, the experts say that chewing as adults is a form of acting out for dogs. At 2, a dog needs to run and experience life. Perhaps keeping her occupied on other things will stop her from chewing. Perhaps she is bored and not getting enough exercise. Dogs will usually chew on things when left alone for long periods. It is a matter of giving the dog something else to do that is enjoyable to them and they will stop chewing.

everytime we give her a new toy, she has it destroyed in the same day most of the time, and she has already gone through 3 dog beds, so now she just has blankets, and she has accuse to outside whenever she wants because there is a doggie door.

That is good she has access to doggie door, but what does she do when she goes out? Like children dogs need attention. Companionship and close contact. Give her toy, she will chew it up, play with her with the toy and she will preserve the toy for playtime.

Labradors are very playful dogs. When you throw something they will run for it and get it and return it back to you.One problem is they are fun of chewing everything.Labs stop chewing when they become matured, but you must trained your lab also,if he chew everything just try to stop him,so that your labs knows that he is doing a wrong thing.Just give a small time for training, that's the best way to do.
