Hello MYLOTTER,
Have you observed it sometimes that after responding to someone's discussion the discussion starter responds to other's responses & leaves your response. How do you feel than??? What is your reaction??.
I feel very embarassed & feel like am i so bad or my response is so bad that someone did not bother to comment on it.
I do understand some times the responses are so specific that there is no scope for some to right anything but the words like "ThanK you for your response" will also be appreciable i feel.
What do you feel about it????

You better develop a thick skin sjvg and move on. This is routine here. Just when you think that you have given a response that deserves a BR the topic creator does not even look at it!. And there is no penalty for those who do it. So why mull over it. You have enough on your plate I am sure that will occupy you happily here!

@ allknowing i already have a thick skin. What i need it to make it more thick i suppose.I will try to stick to your advice dear.
@ AG Lazy is accepted as not today, tomorrow they will return i hope but to be specific for responses is not good.
I like your advice to put some humorous phrases in responses may it will work out better.

Hmmm...You got some points on that! You better go for adding humour in your responses. Humour is a sure thing to get people comfortable in replying to your posts and responses. I think everybody loves smiling and laughing at humour generally.

Yeah, take this advice! You should be able to deal with the differences of each individual in here. Some are just lazy, others are just too specific on a certain response while others just simply don't care. Much like the game we called life. I suggest that maybe you can add some catchy phrases or humorous side notes with your responses. If that doesn't worked, at least you tried. As long as you respond, nothing is lost because it is the thought of sharing your views that counts. Happy myLotting!

Hello sjvg,
The picky trend by some mylotters hurting the unfortunate ones. I can understand your feelings better because I have faced the same situation many times. I have stopped responding to that mylotters, at least for sometime, to avoid further hurts. They may not understand how it hurts others. I am happy that only few people are doing the same but majority is treating everyone as equal.

I tried to make understand one person, but that person told me, she/he does not have much time to reply to all. I don't know why he/she selecting people to reply. If one person does not have time to reply to all then stop starting further discussions. that is my policy. (the person is starting 2-3 topics in a day) If I bored with one topic (in case getting too much replies) I may take a break from that topic but definitely I give reply to all my participants.
Thank you sjvg and have a nice weekend.

Hello sreekala,
Your way of responding to users is justified i also feel the same way i will definitely avoid to respond to the person whom i notice he/she don't respond most of the time.
I also do it like you "If I bored with one topic (in case getting too much replies) I may take a break from that topic but definitely I give reply to all my participants".

Hello sreekala,
Leaving those MYLOTTERS is not a solution we need to make them understand that they should always reply for the responses they get from others this is courtesy.
I also agree most of time it does not happen few people have the habit like this.

hello, sjvg1976. this is one interesting discussion.
i have to say that there are instances i do not reply back to a comment or response. but there is nothing personal to it.
there are reasons of course. one is, i could not relate to the comment, or simply, i did not understand. two, sometimes, a comment is a duplication, therefore, i think i do not have to reiterate. three, i am very busy at the moment and i could not respond ASAP (that really makes me guilty actually).
i have to agree with one of the commenter that a starter does not owe anyone an answer. we just have to accept the fact that it was not responded but it is not personal or anything. we do not have to be slighted by that simple act. sometimes, no response is better than receiving one that insults or lambast.
have a good day to you.

Hello bingskee,
All things you mentioned could be the cause of not responding to the responses.Your point "sometimes, no response is better than receiving one that insults or lambast" is good but instead leaving it blank creator can also reply with the words like thank you for sharing your views etc.that would be appreciable rather to leave blank.

hello sjvg,
I wonder why about it too.
I want to think that he/she misses my comment that is why s/he did not comment back.
But after a day i checked again and still no response to my comment and everyone s/he responded back (uhmnn) that're really something.
Well, just ignore and go to other mylotters topics.
Don't let a single comment make you feel down.
There are more good and considerate mylotters than rude and inconsiderate ones.
Take in real life, there are people who also behave same thing right?
So,don't be affected, but keep posting and you will get to know more friendly mylotters and stick to them then.
Have a good great weekend ahead

@ Hello Jaiho i am also trying to identify those MYLOTTERS. If i do identify them i will respond to their discussions without hoping to get anything in return because we feel bad only when we hope for something.I liked that there is someone who thinks like me.
@ hello LK that is the reason i always prefer to respond to other's discussion rather to dreate my own.

You are right. whenever my responses got no comments back from the poster I would feel like... what now? Mine is not good enough?... Even when they replied like: thanks for your responses.. I would still feel a bit disappointment.. come on this is a discussion not a yes or no survey...

sjvg I also feel like that and I think those who do not make a comment of every single response are lazy and are not thinking of the feelings of
those they bypass. we all want to be valued for our work here and in order to do that others must respond or comment to our discussions and responses. do not leave out people as thats plain old mean discrimination. oh I know you think this an that and alway give excuses
but the fact is you are picking and choosing and being discriminating against some mylotters.thats so mean.come on mylotters you made the discussions lets actually discuss it and quit leaving people out comment to all responses or do not make discussions if you think you have not time. not fair to those you bypass.

Hello Mrs Hatley,
Your point is true that is the reason i don't start much of the discussions because i am too lazy to respond to all responses though i have replied to all responders till now in all my discussions which i started.I always respect others & feel if someone has responded to my discussion then its my duty to respond him/her back as its courtesy.

Hi sjvg.
I agree with Jaiho. Don't let them put you down. Just continue responding to others.
I haven't experience that yet, but i noticed that in some discussion, some responders are not commented back by the starter of the discussion, yet for the others she / he did. She/he skipped some boxes.
Maybe it was an oversight, because i noticed once or twice too, that i did that. Whenever i would go back to see the responses to my discussions , there are pages that i thought i have answered, so i overlooked some. But i was able to go back to them, when i would review the responses.

Hello sjvg1976, I have had that happen but I do not get upset. I sometimes are responding to posts and I get real tired because it gets late and I log off. Then when I go back the next day, I sometimes forget. Then I get involved in other discussions. I get loads of emails with new discussions and I try to respond to all of them. Sometimes some do get missed.

I would not take it personal. People are very busy with all kinds of things going on in their lives. Sometimes they have time to respond and then something comes up and they have to go. And they forget to get back to responding to a specific discussion. I think that sometimes the comment stands on its own and does not require a response. Maybe, I am wrong but I thought that I read in mylot FAQ's that just a thank you was not acceptable???? Did I read this???? I wish that there was a way to message all those who respond at the same time. This would not be to replace individual responses but it would be nice to also have a way to message the entire group.
Sometimes, I have gotten so many responses at the same time that i find it impossible to keep up with them all. I mean to go back and answer each response but I get busy and forget. I have a job and other obligations. And then there are all the unexpected things that come up, some requiring immediate attention.
So, do not take it personal when someone does not respond to your response. You do not know what is happening in the other person's life.
Also, look over all the responses. Are you the only person who did not get a response? Or were there others?

OK. I will say thank you for your input and time. I will also add I would not spend time obsessing over not receiving responses from mylotters. Remember that you do not know what is going on in their life. I have just come home from work very fatigued. if I had many responses to comment on, I would not be able to. I am too tired and work was difficult.
Do not take it personal if someone does not respond or comment back to you. Do the best that you can in starting a discussion or responding to discussions. That is all that you can do: your best.

I guess that I should also add that when I was new to mylot, veteran mylotters brought it to my attention that I was not commenting to their responses after I had begun a discussion. I was reading the responses but I was not commenting. I actually did not realize that it was expected to comment and that persons might get hurt and offended if I did not do so. I was beginning a lot of discussions. I have since stopped beginning so many discussions and using what time and energy I have to respond to discussions. When I saw your discussion, it reminded me of what some mylotters said to me when I did niot comment or respond back.

Hello
bostonphil,
There are others also who did not get the response but cannot say how they feel???
But i think MYLOT has written thank you is not acceptable as it may not help to get earning otherwise for members thank you is acceptable as i feel its the best way to end discussion.

I sometimes feel that way but i tend to neglect it. Just don't bother about those stuffs and don't be so sensitive. Maybe the person who posted the discussion can't relate to what you've responded or he's too busy making his earnings higher and forget to reply on your response. Take it easy and keep on responding :)

Hello nurseclare,
I agree we should neglect it.We should always take things positively as this can be the case that "person who posted the discussion can't relate to what you've responded or he's too busy making his earnings higher and forget to reply on your response".
You said it rightly i also will try to think like you in future.

Hello suryaroy,
Welcome to MYLOT.you are very new to MYLOT but definitely you will encounter such instances when you will get more involved in discussions & my suggestion is to go through this discussion and implement these to reduce anguish if you will feel at that time.

I do try to comment on every response i receive and the only times i don't do this is when someone has left a similiar comment as someone else, so therefore i don't want to provide the same reply over again.
Leaving "Thanks for your response" as a reply and nothing else is not an acceptable comment, as Mylot asks you to be as descriptive as possible when replying to any discussion and i really can't understand why replying that way alone would be appreciated, especially if most of the comments received a descriptive reply.

Hello jujunme,
But you should reply even in the case when response is similar because many a times this happens when there is little scope in a discussion to write different opinions.
"Thanks for you response" is not acceptable from MYLOT for earning purpose only otherwise i think it is acceptable.

I really don't mind much about that thing. When i respond to a discussion and the member didn't bother to reply, I just ignore it. I think it's just my personality that i don't get involve much in this kind of things. But i do understand why you feel that way, especially if yours was skipped and the rest was responded to.

Yep, in my opinion this is the right thing to do. As long as you are able to share your views or opinions for others it should be fine. To be able to ignore things like this, you should focus on contributing and sharing to the topic and not looking for any response to be replied with.

Okay, I actually wrote my response yesterday but got stuck with the connection. I guess it didn't post, so here I am again.
Yea, I get it too sometimes, but I guess there's no forcing people to comment back to our response if they don't want to. Anyway, we have already done our part which we are earning from it.
Many still do not know that by commenting back and forth will help boost our income. As for me, I will definitely comment back to any response that is posted on my discussions unless I really have nothing to say, then I'll just leave it.

Hello Jlyn10,
I was waiting for your response yesterday.
Many people think they will earn just by starting discussions but they forget they have to comment back & should involve in the discussions for more earnings moreover you should have a courtesy to reply to the one who has respond to your discussion. No doubt one cannot force them to do so but they should do response.

maybe people dont feel the need to elaborate because they agree with u and theres not much to say if uv hit the nail on the head other people on the other hand might be talking about the same thing but from a different perspective.
