man exposing his smelly armpit...

This situation happened a couple of days ago when we were riding a public utility vehicle called "tricycle." We were seated in the cab attached to the motorcycle and later on, another passenger, a man who had a sando top took the seat behind the tryke driver. OMG! He was raising his right hand up because he was holding on to the roof of the cab. Naturally, we got to smell his unwashed armpit. Believe me, it was pure torture the whole time we were traveling. The passenger seated next to me was already covering her nose and I followed suit. I think that male passenger who was exposing his armpit for everyone to see and smell should get the clue but he didn't. We almost collapsed before we reached our destination. Not one of us was brave enough to tell that passenger to please close his armpit. What would you have done if you were in our place?

Huh... That's... kinda...strange of a topic. XD Well, I'd try to ask the person in the kindest tone possible to close his armpits. I'm pretty sure that person sorta had quite a day and I wouldn't want to make him mad, but if I was in his place, I'd be rather upset I wasn't told of that. I'd be embarrassed being told, but... you know, best to be told by someone kind then... someone that can be rude.

I've always heard that if you love someone, you will tell them if their breath stinks. I guess telling him could fall under that, lol. If I smell, I want to know. It is harder to tell a stranger that than say a friend or even an acquaintance.

Yeah, it's even harder for someone who's not good at articulating... Sadly, I'm part of that group. If I was more outgoing, it'd probably be a bit easier.

That is why we were all mum about it and suffered everything in silence during the entire trip.

Hi Cutie, your discussion make me laugh...that is not unwashed armpit, it is due to bacteria and fungus react from his sweat. That aroma will spreading out of his armpit, who had called it "armpit perfume" is not everyone. I suggest that, next time you try to cover your face with a surgery mask. I think that should help....

Lol. Are you from the Philippines? It is actually a natural thing to happen here in our country. I am from Tacloban City and believed me, I also experienced such thing while riding a 'multicab'. You know 'multicab's' are a bit smaller type of vehicle so you will definitely be bumping each other and the worst, you will smell whatever the 'aroma' of your seatmate.

How can he put down his arms so his armpit so it will not smell, when he has to hold to the bar of the tricycle, so he won't fall when there's a bump. It's really "kalbaryo", but the Holy Week has long been over.

wow never have been in a situation like that before but it does sound nasty. I wouldn't wanna be the same situation though. Anyway if the smell was totally unbearable, I would have told him I guess coz why suffer when there's always a way out of it :)

I have been there and have not said anything, but usually the person doesn't have their pit in my face. :P

I don't know if I would have told him. IF I decided to, I would have said, "Pardon me, do you think you could lower you arm?" YUCK! I hate it when people think it's okay to not bathe and go out in public! It really brings to mind the importance of daily showers. I have waited tables for years and have waited on whole dining parties with BO, and of course in that position you can't say anything. Funny story!

This is common scene here, many men and women don't shave the underarms, while the construction work was going on in my home, i have witnessed this, at times the cloth over the boobs slips, they don't wear blouse, for them it is just okey While i was in your country, i felt i was in india, many things looked similar to me. Thank you so much for sharing Enjoy life to fullest. Professor ‘*^Bhuwan^*’. .

This is pretty annoying and hilarious at the same time! Yes, I sometimes get to ride with unhygienic people in public transports. It is a very difficult situation especially if the person looks like a goon or a hot tempered individual. I just try to avoid smelling the fould odor. Sometimes I transfer seats if possible. But in your case, all you can do is pray that you won't suffocate from the smell! I will most likely signal subtle actions to make him feel I'm dying with his smell. It will be really hard to confront it to him straight in the face.

Some people can be really nasty! I wouldn't have said anything either but I assure you my husband would have! LOL. I would feel bad saying something to him but man I would hate to be in that position...Gross!
