Maybe easier if we just started a blog but once grows and hundreds or more pages have been published then we tend to forgot the old ones. One thing I always do is linking the new contents to old ones then it still has good amount of traffic. But sometimes also promote them through many ways, do pinging, share to social bookmarking etc..How about you? What you usually do with old published contents?

Linking old relevant posts from newer ones sounds quite the right thing to do. Of course the reverse can also be applied as suppose you have a well known article on something that fetches good traffic and now you post a new one about a relevant topic, so linking the new one from the old one in this case is a good choice.

Interlink if suitable, or re-purpose them in article directories. or update them if there is interest from search queries.

Some of them I just leave to die. The important ones are the evergreen content and are usually found by people coming in from search engines, so still get plenty of traffic. Linking to them helps a bit, of course, and I'll do it where appropriate.
Recently, I took a snapshot of my entire blog contents so I could go back through them all in easy-to-read form and found some really good stuff I'd forgotten. Some of it's going into my next ebook.

I backlink them on about a dozen different sites, and I don't forget to link old ones to new ones. About once a month I go through all the posts and make a mind map and try to see how different posts relate to each other. Since one of my blogs is four years old and for the first three years I posted twice a week, as you can imagine that is a lot of posts to go through!
