Copae America 2011

Brazil
July 1, 2011 2:28pm CST
Is about to begin the first international competition held between national teams. The Copa America 2011. This edition will happen in Argentina. Argentina want that title more than anything, they are 18 years without win a single competition and this time they will play inside their own ground. So what you guys think? Will Argentina win and break a long time sequence without any title? Will Uruguay and Brazil, the others 2 bigs, get the trophy inside Messi and Tevez house? Will we have a surprise? I think Argentina is total favourite to win this time, only a desaster can change it.

Argentina needs the title more than anything I agree, not only for not being able to win it for 18 years, but also we have a series of bad championships and mediocre teams that need to be improved. After being almost left out of the 2010 world cup, having a regular participation in it and losing some friendlies against minor rivals, we urgently need a good match. Argentina is the obvious candidate, but I don't think they can do anything serious as we lack of a real team and have only a bunch of good offensive players. When Tevez, Aguero and Higuain can play together as a team and also with some stronger defense maybe we can talk of being a candidate. Messi is best left on Spain with his $. Brazil is not too much better, after the draw against Venezuela. Uruguay is another possibility. and you forget Paraguay which is always a serious team to play with. Mexico also can do something but it has only a young team. One detail totally outside of the deport topic. The final is scheduled to be played on the Monumental, the stadium of River Plate, the most winning local team. Right in this season before the beginning of the tournament, the team has descended to the second division!! So in fact we will have an international final match on a stadium from the B division.

Pass this week without participate in MyLot and couldn't reply in my own topic :(. Anyway, the 3 favorites show a very poor football, you are right moneywinner. Today i was watching Brazil against Paraguay and i liked a lot of the Paraguay team, surprised me. Brazil made a goal at the end of the game, and their big hope Neymar is not playing so well. Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay will not gonna have a easy life in the last round, i wouldn't be surprised anymore if one of them get eliminated.

After all the 3 favorites played bad on their first matches, we have to wait to see if we really have a big favorite to win this title. For my surprise, the best team after the first round was Chile! And, in second place, was Paraguay! The both teams played nice on their first match, Paraguay only didn't win because Equador's goalkeeper was in a really good day. I'm waiting for the second round that starts tomorrow to see a better football from these "favorites" teams.

Oh yeah. finally the copae America is starting. I am very excited to watch it because they play really impressive and offensive soccer, something we lack in european football, if you don't count barcelona in. I am supporting bolivia, because I like a lot bolivia's captain, Garcia, since he used to play for my favourite greek league football club.

Bolivia surprise all of us yesterday. They could have won Argentina if Marcelo Moreno didn't missed that goal, he usually don't miss such a easy goal like that. It would be really incredible if Bolivia beat Argentina in her first match.

I see this being between Brazil and Argentina, with Uruguay having an outside change. For me home advantage will mean a lot and the argentines have more attacking flair than Brazil just now so I reckon Argentina will win it.

And Brazil didn't won of Venezuela. I have to say that I'm not that surprised, because they don't win of Venezuela on the last three matches against them. It's incredibly, because Venezuela is sooo weak. I wanna see the Uruguay match against Peru. At least one favorite have to show some good football.

It seems that Argentina has had a slow start, playing a 1-1 draw against Bolivia on the opening day. I haven't watched the game, but before the game I thought that it will be an easy game for Argentina, especially because they are at home. Will see what is going to happen next, we will have a clearer mind after the first games.

I don't think Argetina is a total favorite to win this title and I think it would be pretty normal if Argentina don't win this competition. For me, Argentina and Brazil are on the same level. Uruguay is slightly below. Argentina have a great team, but their defense is not good, that's a fact. Their defense is not good for years know. Their defenders are not trustable. They do have a good attack, but their big hope is Messi. And we all know that Messi plays a lot different on Argentina team from what he plays on Barcelona team. Brazil is totally different from what was on the last World Cup. No one know that if the new offensive team will work. They have a lot of good players, but the hope are on the young players, so, we don't know how they will react with pressure. Uruguay kept the last World Cup base of players, so, it's a very good team. Suarez is playing very well, but Forlan is not playing as good as he was. For me these 3 teams are the favorites and, for me, it's not going to be any surprise if any of these 3 teams win this title.
