I know mostly of the people all over the world saw or heard the news that some part of Davao City was devastated by flash floods days ago.50,000 families are affected and death toll rise to 29 and still many are missing. So sad that this city is experiencing floods now a days. Who will to be blamed for this? Can you share me your point of view? It is the nature or the people? Prayers for the souls of the flash floods casualties.

Nature is responsible for the floods. People are responsible for building in areas which are liable to flooding. People are also responsible for covering areas with concrete and for cutting down the vegetation which can make the water run slower. I have a friend in Davao City who lives quite close to the river. I hope that she's alright. Of course, I pray for her and her family and for everyone who has been involved and hope that they will not have lost much and are still alive.

Thanks so much for the comment...yes people should be the one to blame sometimes, because they did not take good care of the nature and they cut down trees without replanting or replacing it.Hope your friend is well.Godbless...:)

I was deeply devastated by this news. My boyfriend and his family was personally affected the flood. From what I heard of his story, the flood went up to as high as their ceiling that they had to stay on the roof just so they are not killed in the flood, which you know by the now took a lot of lives. This has never happened in Davao before and some were saying that it is because of the recent developments in the area, because there are a lot of housing projects. But in some way, I think this is just a work of nature and nothing could have been done to prevent it from happening or limiting the damage that it has caused. I guess all that is left to do now is to help out the victims, which is what I had been working on for now.

I am very sorry to hear that Davao City has suffered a flood killing more than 30 people. Many homes have been destroyed and it is awful some people are missing. I believe that it is the weather that is to blame. When heavy rain falls it is important that flood defense is in place which is unlikely. Flash floods are very dangerous and it is very upsetting when one happens. Good luck to the people of Davao City that are affected by this terrible flood.
