Whats the reason behind this?

Friend I observed one thing in mylot. When we are responding on discussion then our numbers are increasing but when I start discussion and comments on response no number is increased. Actual I cant understand the reason behind this or what policy is applying mylot about this. I dont know so my all experience holder mylot friends share your knowledgeable views with me. This will help for me to increase my knowledge about mylot.
One more question is that how our reputation will increase by admin or by mylotter or by our response or discussions quality.

Yes the points do not increase as you continually comment in your own discussions. But it works this way from what I have observed.
You start a discussion and you received two responses then you get one point. Remember you get the point but you do not earn, as they typed and not you.
You get one response and you comment then you get one point and earn as you made the quality comment. But if you continue to comment to the responders, although your points do not increase you are earning for all quality participation.
I often tell members not to worry about points and certain features of myLot, if the goal is to earn then you should not concentrate on points but more so on on quality responses and or comments.
You can make endless points but that does not mean you are earning. Remember qulity is the key and placing phrases and or thank yous to increase points does not earn. When you ask about reputation. Do keep in mind that the points determines the user reputation. However, that has nothing to do with admin and or earnings either. Members will rate you as you go in which it will increase and or decrease your DRS as you participate here. Yes useful and helpful quality participation will and should be rated, if found healthy participation for the community.

Thanks for that explanation. I do know about getting points from first response or comment we write in other discussion but I did not know that our points will be increased when we start a discussion and receive 2 responses. Anyway I don't mind about the number of the discussions I have because it did not show the actual number for sure~(^^)

This is not "official" it is just that some users, if they were to receive an increase for each comment would have many thousands of points, because they comment a lot. Mylot is not about earning or points, but it is about discussions, so they really do not have to "keep score" as it is by adding more to our numbers. Your reputation will increase by how you are rated by your fellow MyLot members. That is why there are little boxes that have + - and !. I hope you are remembering to rate others as well. So you know that your discussion will earn a point when it actually becomes a discussion, that is, you will be awarded a point when you have someone respond and you comment back or when two people respond. That is when your point will show up. You will also see a point increase for one response to a discussion. You will see a point increase if you comment on someone else's response in a discussion that you did not start. I would say the accumulation of points is less about seeing points add on, and more about participating in a variety of discussions.

Here is the member that very early on, I read where she said something similar that many of the myLot features are not quite as important such as the points. I suppose it depends on how one uses the site, if it is for earnings then tracking of points would make no sense. Thank you GG! 
I have done as she, mysd and several others have told me and that is to enjoy myLot, the discussions and friends and one would be surprised on how the points and earnings simply flow.

Yes diana friend I agree with you HWG always give all mylotter to great answers and solve everybody problems. So I like her attitude and style of response even I am here only due to this my lovely friend HWG because she is always encouraged me. thanks for comment.

I think that the reason that we don't see our numbers increase when responding to comments in our own discussions and also when leaving subsequent responses in a discussion that we've already taken part in is because once we get to that point, what we are doing is really making a discussion a discussion. However, another observation that I've made on this one is that it doesn't matter that our post count doesn't increase, our earnings do still increase when we are leaving these subsequent comments.

Hi there,
My suggestion to you if you are limited to start a new discussion, better to participates in other discussions for better and good result from money to numbers including reputation.. from there, whatever your comments in a certain discussion considered your discussion if other response and you response again - good result.. the key is how you comments and how you make the discussion bring into furtherance discussions.

Good question indeed ! Discussions started by us will be considered as one and the comments given by us are included in this. That is why u see some of our friends like HWG,MYsd,VIDHP, they start less discussions but comment on more discussions. Their ratio may be 1 : 100. there are a few people who start more discussions and also post more comments.
I suggest we start topics which comes as a bulb in our mind and post comments for more discussions. Other members will give their views.

ravisivan Friend I also observed this and so this question is arise in my mind. HWG,MYsd, VIDHP,Professor2010 and so more all are start discussion less and comment or responses are more. Whats the reason behind this more income or more reputation or more numbers why? Anyway I think my discussion is helpful for more mylotter so thanks for response.

Thank you for posting this question, I am also confused to some of the laws around here. I thought that making discussion will help you earn a point but its the other part of the story. I am also a beginner and so willing to explore this myLot for possible learning.
