The most challenging part of being a mom is when your baby is sick.I still panic though I know that I should just give him medicine and take him to the doctor. It breaks my heart whenever he's crying not able to tell me what he feels because he can't still talk.:(
My baby has fever since yesterday and I am so worried because he doesn't get sick too often, which makes me a very proud mom. But at times like this, I feel like I'm less of a mom that I didn't do my best to keep him healthy.
I want to know what other moms do in situations like this.
Thanks.

If ever in doubt, take your baby in to be checked. Most times a baby will have a high fever and it ends up being something simple like an ear infection that would clear up with antibiotics. If the baby is not very old, you can buy a pacifier at the stores that you put the medicine in to. The baby will suck on the pacifier and get the medicine from it. This was a lifesaver for us. Our son was diagnosed with epilepsy at two months old. We hated having to fight with him and when we found the pacifier worked so well, it made us happy.

I'm sorry to hear that lindaharding627.I hope your son is well. Thanks for your advice.
If the fever doesn't go away today, I will definitely take him to the doctor.I haven't seen anything like that in the stores yet here in the Philippines but I would sure check it out again.I think that would also help me a lot in administering medicines to my son.

It is really heartbreaking to hear my baby cry. He had influenza due to the vaccines injected to him last Sunday. We didn't gave him a medicine because we are just advised to give him paracetamol if it is a fever (37.8 degrees C or higher). I was really worried about him. I just carry him so that he will be comfortable while he sleeps. I'm glad that the influenza last for just several hours.

My son is a year old and he has only been sick a few times and it was never anything major. I just give him medicine and keep an eye on how he's feeling and most importantly, keep calm. He hasn't had fever often bcause his problems have been mainly allergies. I just run his humidifier and rub Baby Vicks on his chest. It's horrible when your child doesn't feel well. You feel powerless to help them. I'm thankful I don't have to deal with it often. I hope your son is feeling better. :)

When my baby is sick, mother has the most important responsibility to care for their child and give full support to make them healthier. Since i have the most important responsibility so i should first take my baby to the doctor and take his advice of taking proper medicine to cure as quick as i can. Besides i have the responsibility of a mother, i am his/her best friend.
